IBSAT 2021 Exam Pattern

IBSAT exam is conducted through online mode only. There will be a total of 140 questions with each question carrying one mark. There is no negative marking. The questions asked will be having the multiple choices and candidates have to select the right option from them. They are objective in nature. There is no sectional cut-off. The medium of the exam is English. If we have the idea of the pattern, we will be able to know the areas where we should concentrate. This will make our preparation more comprehensive. The total number of questions asked under each subject category is mentioned in the table given below:

The candidates who have cleared the test with the required cut-off will be called for the further process which includes the Personal interview and Group discussion. Marks obtained from group discussion and personal interview will be used for the preparation of the final list.

Preparation tips

  • Candidates should start their preparation as early as possible depending on their level of understanding of the subjects. Last-minute preparation will never help you get the required score.
  • It is important to analyze the syllabus well before starting the preparation. This helps in finding the areas of your strength and weakness and have our focus accordingly. Do a proper revision of the areas in which you are strong and then start with the weakest areas.
  • Candidates having a better understanding of the concepts would be able to solve the questions irrespective of its difficulty level. Rather than going for superficial studies, it is necessary to do a thorough analysis of the concepts.
  • Practice as many question papers as possible. This would help in increasing the speed and the level of accuracy.
  • You should practice the question papers which have the pattern similar to the actual exam. Using random question papers may not satisfy the purpose.
  • Solve the question papers with different levels of difficulty so that you will be able to face the exam confidently without any fear.
  • It would be of immense help if you are practicing with computer-based tests. This would help you in improving your efficiency during the actual exam.
  • For the questions of quantitative aptitude, it becomes necessary to remember a lot of formula. Prepare a chart of that formula and revise it frequently. Try to remember the shortcuts which would help you in increasing the speed.
  • Some candidates have the habit of reading a lot of books and do not do the revision. This is not the right strategy and involves a significant wastage of time. Take time in selecting a standard book and get through with the concepts. You can use a reference book if needed. Practicing more question papers is important.
  • While solving the question papers, allocate the time according to your comfortably with the subjects. First, solve those questions which are easy and then go for difficult ones. This helps you in better scoring.
