The Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives (PGPX) is an intensive 15 month regular full-time residential programme for aspirants with work experience.

This is similar to 1 year MBA programmes offered by other IIMs, ISB, XLRI and other renowned MBA colleges. This is not an executive or part-time MBA. Admission to the PGPX course of IIM Udaipur is very competitive and is through the GMAT. The PGPX provides students with the same solid foundation in key management concepts and disciplines as a two year MBA, with similar rigor and grading criteria.

A key advantage of the PGPX is that the course work builds on the diverse work experience of the students. The students spend the fall module in Purdue University, USA for their international immersion segment. Purdue University, founded in 1869, is a highly ranked public university in US. Since its inception, the Krannert School of Management has been widely recognized as one of the top business schools in the country — Its overall master program is ranked #16 worldwide in Business Insider’s Spring 2010 report. In the 2013 U.S. News & World Report ranking, Purdue is ranked #7 in Operations and Production and #9 in Supply Chain Management/Logistics. The coursework also requires the completion of an internship lasting for a total of eight weeks.

The students are awarded with both the PGPX Diploma from IIM Udaipur and a MS degree from Purdue. This 15 month dual degree program between Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur and Purdue University is designed to cater to the present industry requirements and equips students to deal with complex supply chains spanning several nations across the globe.

Supply chain is not only about supplying products or services, but also moving together with the products and services all related information attached to the products/services. The internet is an effective medium to share and transfer the information to all relevant parties in the supply chain. This will definitely increase the level of satisfaction of all stakeholders and at the same time reduce the cost of the supply chain operation.

Most of the people in the group are talking about CIPS or MBA but hardly anyone here has paid attention to some of the excellent courses available in public procurement and contract management, totally free of cost by the World Bank on their website. Anyone can enroll online on their website at below link, complete the course, obtain the certificate for CPPP and CPCM.  Since they come from World Bank, it would be recognized globally.
