At UIC, your options are endless! UIC connects international students to a city of opportunities. We offer more than a classroom education. A UIC education is a chance to explore, engage, serve, enjoy and lead. This experience is a road map for navigating all the academic, cultural, social and service opportunities available to UIC students.

Through the Center for Student Involvement, International students can explore hundreds of student organizations; attend or help plan dozens of educational, cultural and fun campus events. You can also join a fraternity or sorority.

Taeler Frierson, pursuing Communication and Music major, shares his experience of living in UIC:

The best part about being in college in Chicago is living in the middle of the city! My next-door neighbours are Michigan Avenue and State Street, and I absolutely love that. My dorm is right around the corner from Chicago’s famous Taylor Street. Little Italy, Greek-town and China town are almost within walking distance. If I open my window in the dorm, I see the Sears Tower and downtown lights at night.”

Adithyan Subramanianian, Bioengineering major, talks about his study experience at UIC:

“The coursework gives me the knowledge necessary to succeed, but there are so many other aspects of being a student at UIC. Research, volunteering and internships give me the opportunity to not only learn in a work environment, but also to see if I am making the right career choice.”
