Gaganyaan Mission of ISRO In the recent Independence Day speech, Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi announced the Gaganyaan Program of ISRO that would take Indian astronauts to space. On the occasion of the 75th year of Independence of India ISRO will undertake a manned mission on board 'Gaganyaan Mission' which will be carrying the Indian national flag. The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) currently working on the Gaganyaan Mission. The Gaganyaan mission is the first manned mission of our Country. About the Spacecraft In its starting mission, the autonomous spacecraft of ISRO's which is of 3.7-tonne (8,200 lb) capsule size will orbit the surface of Earth at 400 km (250 mi) altitude for up to seven days with three-person crew on board.
