well, i would opt for Self censorship because what matters ultimately is what you would do if you were to be left at your own devices.
Why should someone else be there to watch over you lest you should do something wrong?
At the end of the day, it is your onus to be responsible towards your self and if you feel that something is wrong then it is better to not do it all rather than someone telling you that you should not be doing it.

Very true,if the govt thinks that any one above the age of 18 is mature n learned enough to vote for there representatives , i see no reason why they should not be free to decide what is right and wrong for them..with the right to adult franchise should also come the right to self censorship..
yes but this not dissolve the responsibilty of law and the guardians towards anyone below the age of 18..this section definetely needs the right moral nurturing and policing so that they can grow up to be mature and responsible citizens of the country and take the right course in life.

Mr. Chetan
ur sayin the same thing wat i said, i said that its completely ur wish adn ur decision that wat u have to watch adn wat not, theres no one wholl drag u into teh cinema hall, it all depends on u.
wat uve done is repeated wat ive said and interpreted wrong abt wat i posted, again i repeat its completely ur wish to decide.
bye dear

yes r posts do look similar coz they are preaching the same point!!!!!!!!!! but only just!!!!!!!!!

coz what my post also said is if u had watched murder and then u posted this self probation stuff, then u are just wasting everybody's time!!!!!!!! coz first watching it and then speaking against it is u kno what!!!!!!!!!:satisfie:

ultimately the choice lies with the individual and it should.
it is the prerogative of the individual to decide what
he sees, does and doesnt. there is no space for ppl
who want to dictate terms to others.

someone pointed out that there is an overwhelming
pressure on ppl to listen to their leaders.
if u dont want to do something, then dont do it.
plz do not be hypocrites.

dude did u watch murder!!!!!!!!! knowin that it had those "ghastly" sex scenes!!!!!!! nobody forced u to watch that movie if u did!!!!!! their sole aim is to make money!!!!!!! its upto u to not give them ur bucks if u r so against sex being used in bollywood!!!!!!!!!

and that is what self censorship is about!!!!!!!! if u believe that something is wrong then dont watch it!!!!!!!! nobody is forcing u to!!!!!!!! restrain urself!!!!!!!

and not first watch it and then use it to post that u dnt believe in it!!!!!!! thats hypocrisy!!!!!!!:satisfie:

hypocrisy is de word.. sadly but we indians find ourselves all dazed and confused coz we are looking to have the best of both the worlds.. on one end we talk about globalisation and modernisation.. on the other we love to hide behind the so called moral facade.
we have indian glam gals winning international pageants and models adorning the skimpiest clothes n on the other we still have universities whr the govt thinks it has de right to decide the attire of the female students . so ridiculous..
its this sham attitude that we are all left in such contradictions..

One of the reasons that the whole issue has come up is because there is a blurring of the line between our private and public lives. The Media envisioned as a fourth estate to act as a player in maintaining the checks and balances in the Democratic setup has become completely commercialised. Much of the media has strong links to other commercial ventures such as real estate, entertainment businesses so much so that they go all out to promote their interests albeit in a subtle manner. The pubs, bars, discotheques etc wouldnt have been subject so much malignation/adolation if the media had not projected these as life style items(a necessity rather than a luxury).

again its the idea of free will!!!!!!! to some pubs, bars etc. would be a necessity and to some it would be a luxury they may or maynot chose to afford!!!!!!!!! people have different lifestyles and u are right in the fact that media does play a big role in it!!!!!!!!!! but they are in this for money too!!!!!!! club or pub owners pay them for the air time and this is a sort of advertisement for them!!!!!!!!! but then the question arises - who are we to decide wats right and wats wrong!!!!!!!

there again arise the words "self censorship"!!!!!!:satisfie:

In the world of "Murder" where we live we ourselves need to be cautious about wat we have to watch coz these bloody cinema makers will continue to make such movies which are having a tinch of sex just to fill their pockets but they forget everytime they make such a movie that its the quality which sells and not the sex.

In the times when AIDS ads are being aired on tv and when people watch that with their parents then dont they think that it is the need to of teh hour to open ourselves to this world considering our priorities and taking into consideration that a healthy enviornment is the requirement of today.
