@ashijain Hi Ashima,

Your academics are average and the IT pool is extremely competitive. The first thing you should do is prepare for GMAT. A GMAT of 710-720 should be a competitive score to aim for.

Next, you should also establish clear goals that showcase your strengths. Talking to alumni and peers often helps here. Extracurriculars are extremely important for a school such as NUS. Take up a volunteering activity if you aren't involved yet.

Making your profile well-differentiated and spectacular, will help you reach your goal. Hope this helps.

Feel free to reach out for a discussion.

Hello All

Kindly eveluate my profile (for NUS 2018 Intake)

B. Tech in Electrical Engineering (Non IIT) in 2014 and have been working with a reputed Swiss MNC (ABB) in India (Manufacturing and EPC Industry) since then as a Sales and Marketing Engineer. I have held leadership positions throughout engineering and also in school and trained in Karate for 9 Years.

Scores of all major exams is as follows:

Class X: 82.8%

Class XII: 89%

CGPA: 7.98 / 10.0

GMAT: 710 (AWA: 5, IR: 4, Q 49, V 38)

Target Schools: National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Business School (NBS), Indian School of Business (ISB).

In your opinion, do I retake the GMAT and try to score better or should I continue applying with this score. (Am eyeing scholarships). Am specifically concerned about my IR scores.

@kvbee My name is Vrinda and I am the MBA Services Manager for The Red Pen, a study abroad advisory firm. Though you have a good GMAT score, you belong to a highly competitive applicant pool of Indian male engineer. Additionally, with a slightly lower undergraduate GPA and need for scholarships, I would recommend trying to increase your score by another 30-40 points.
