Apply IIMB and IIM-I, they dont require any test score for initial shortlisting but you need to clear their RAT exam. wish you a good Luck 😃

Hello all, I am Swati. I come from a very average academic background 10th :68,12th: 63, bsc(ag) : 70, MBA: 65 ... I have around 5 years of experience as financial analyst and business analyst. And currently taking break from work as I delivered a baby year back. Since I don have work permit to work in US, I can't work. We might stay here in us for another three more years. I am very much interested in pursuing research in finance from IIM Bangalore . Please guide me what should I do in these three years that would justify my break and help me getting in FPM program. Also, pls suggest if I should write JRF or GMAT for that.

@meaculpa  you need to work on academic output in the long term and start at the basics of defining for yourself, the reason for interest in academics ( from your profile) and what parts of your experience are clearly for/away from academic life ahead of you should be easy to identify for you as a consequence. Play hard to ensure they dont think you expect to be entitled because of your experience and are in the same ballpark as recent graduates with academic excellence in the field as the basic tenet of the interview

also you should find thus a field or two that are currently activated in academic research and where you think your contributions will be appreciated and follow the subject/research , not necessarily having any counterpoint, but able to discern and critique good academic output using academic poarameters

Hello everybody. I have done my B.Tech (EEE) from itm university, gurgaon with a cgpa of 7.84/10, XII- 85.2, X- 82.8. I dont have a work experienc, but I did 3 internship during my under-graduation. All the 3 were in Engg. I did assist my teacher on her DST funded project, but since this project was for her Ph.D, we couldn't really complete this project. This was the main reason I couldn't write any research papers. I had my GRE on 1stOct and scored a 319 (164Q/155V).

Please suggest me that is this profile enough to apply in an fpm program in any A rank institution??

Also, since I am an engg. graduate, how can I write a suitable SOP? I mean, I really don't know much about management field, so how could I justify my choice for fpm to the admission comittee?

your research is what you should make your sop and interview focus on. and you need to be thorough esp in areas like Decision sciences or even Strategy, as they would expect to focus on making sure you are the genuine article ( 4 papers in cfd )

Hi.. I wanted to apply for FPM in public policy and management from IIM A,B,C. For that I appeared for GRE and was hoping for 320+. Besides FPM, I was going to apply for MS also. But unfortunately things went so wrong that I would be getting 310 approx. which is hell low and disappointing score to apply anywhere. Can I apply for FPM without a GRE score? Would that be hampering my chances of selection? With this score and below profile any good university abroad for Materials? Below is my profile:

(i) BTech. - Metallurgical and Materials Engg , NIT Jaipur (ii) CGPA- 9.03 (Gold Medalist) (iii) Research internship from IISc Bangalore (iv) One Research paper published in an international journal-JPED (v) 10th/12- 87/85%. Currently working with Raymond's Engineering Business.  Thanks!!!!

IIM Bangalore does not require any tests this year. There are other reasons test scores can be waived. However, I am not sure if that actually does not hamper your chances. If they find you suitable, they will conduct independent testing (RAT) between/before the interviews
