ORIENTATION AND INDUCTION PROGRAM
The induction cum orientation program of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indore witnessed a resounding start with eminent guests giving inputs and an enthusiastic participation from the incoming batch, faculty, staff and members. The new buds of the batch 2015-17 entered the auditorium where the entire auditorium was decorated to welcome them. The day started by the welcome note by Prof. Aditi Naidu, where she extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests. The esteemed guests were welcomed by Dr. Harvardhan Halve, Director, Jaipuria Institute of Management in a traditional Jaipuria welcome by gifting a potted plant. The Director also welcomed the guests and the students in his welcome speech. The podium was then handed over to Program Chair, Dr. Romi Sainy who explained to the new batch the importance of the course and quoted that the road is beautiful and you have chosen the right path, and goal is quite easy to be achieved.
The Guest of Honour, Mr. Murli Radhakrishnan, Regional Director, MP, Reserve Bank of India, said the best management lessons can be learnt by universal book, Bhagwat Gita, which can teach you lifelong management lessons both for war and management. He ended his speech by giving social messages. The message that he gave to the incoming batch was- always be close to nature, learn management lessons at our own homes, because mothers are the best managers.
Dr. Rajesh, the Chief Guest talked about the culture and diversity that the new students would have faced, but he made them understand the importance of change. He also quoted that Peter Drucker has differentiated between management and leadership. He quoted that the difference between a manager and CEO is that the art of managing a company is leadership, and it is all about people.
He said, before you start with any work make sure of three questions, why am I doing it? What would be the results and would I be successful in doing what I want? He said that management is about doing things right, but leadership is about doing right things. He ended his speech by speaking his moral words that always be ready for change, because only change is constant.
The first part of the orientation ended presenting a memento of appreciation to our esteemed guests, and the vote of thanks by Prof. Nitin Merh.
After this, Prof. Jagdish Bhagwat introduced the students with the course and what all they will learn in their most important two years of life.
The second part of the orientation day started by welcoming our esteemed guest from various organisations with a potted plant. The podium was first handed over to Mr. Nagar from Kotak Mahindra who enlightened the audience in the area of Finance. The program was then taken over by Mr. Manish, Zonal Head from Pepsico, who guided the students that sales and marketing are different domains, and a person can get into marketing only after having prior experience of sales. The session was then taken over by Mrs. Nidhi Sarda, HR head of WorldPay who guided the students in her area, and motivated the students towards HR.
The day 2 of orientation ended by Prof. Aditi's session on the importance of books. She very well made the students understand that reading is a very important of everybody's life, and people who have not yet practiced the art should start doing it now.
After the library session, Prof. Pooja Singh Khushwaha made the students aware of how important technology is in our lives. She also addressed and guided the students as to how the companies study the candidate's social accounts while hiring them, therefore it becomes important to them to maintain their social accounts very well. The whole day was well planned and helped the students understand what PGDM program will be offering them in the next two years.
ORIENTATION AND INDUCTION PROGRAM
The much awaited Induction Program designed exclusively for the fresh faces took a positive pace on 1st July 2015.
The new batch of 2015-17 comprises of diverse students from every part of the country including Assam and Bihar. The induction program took a start from the registration process and a campus tour.
The students were addressed by Dr. Romi Sainy, Prof. Kalyani Parmal, Prof Nitin Merh and other staff members. The Registration process was intended to have prior documentation of the students. The session was then handed over to Prof. Nitin Merh who made the new batch understand the real meaning of peer learning through various activities, done under the his supervision.
The last event of the day was the orientation of the parents which was addressed by Director Sir,Dr. Harshvardhan Halve. In this event the parents shared their views about the college and how warm they felt after getting into the campus.
Are the placements common for all 4 campuses? Do the students travel to a common campus from other campuses to attend placement process?
