Hi! I am 2014 Passout ECE engg from WBUT, with CGPA 0f 8.65. 12th-86.33%, 10th-90.86%. I have a year drop after my 12th..Also, at the moment I am not working. I am expecting a decent percentile in CAT. Will my year gap after 12th and no work-experience matter a lot for final selection?? Even if I join somewhere now, will it make any difference??

Hey Guys, I have entered wrong graduation %age details in my CAT application form. My cgpa is 7.4 and I multiplied it by 10 in order to convert it to %age. I came to know that my university's practice is *10-5 and that makes is 69%. What should i do now? Ur suggestions are eagerly awaited.

Buffer calls is said to be given when a college gives final offer call to more students than the available college seats . Ex . A college has 100 seats but gives final offer to ,say 120 . This is done by the college in anticipation that around 20 will not join the college .
Problem it creates : Wait-listed candidates might overestimate their chances. Say you are Waitlist-1 , you might be sure you will get the final offer,but in reality,your waitlist will be (120-100)+1= 21 . This extra buffer (120-100)= 20 is not revealed by the college in most cases making predictions difficult
