CAT Centre, Date and Slot: 17 nov , eve 3.15

1) How many attempts you have made and also mention the accuracy level.
Qa-28
Va -30

2) Your last mock score? I wasnt preparing for cat this year as i was shocked by the my result last year just got 85% (was getting 99+ in all mocks (IMS,TIME)),(Bharosa hi uth gaya tha )
Normalization jaisa kuch nahi tha (atleast last time)
final score is ur raw score only :-P....easy paper more marks...
last time i gave on 19 Nov,morning slot (one of the Toughest paper of last year,Horrible DI ).

so this time just studied last 3 weeks(mostly last week)..

3) How was your experience of the test?nice
4) What was the surprise element for you?
easy Qa,easy va,
5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better?none
6) Your overall analysis of the exam: Toughness, new topics, sections etc.
Qa -questions looked horribly tough , but if try to solve them all could have have been easily solved...
i had 5 mins with two questions remaining..one from geometry, my nemesis(last year my paper had 30-40% sums on that topic..how pathetic..)
anyways i saw the timer and got concious and then dunno what happened(went Blank) i coudnt solve the other one...
as timer expired suddenly just thought of that geometry question and got the logic as well as the answer .....missed a sitter here..:-(
Va-Lr- suprisingly very easy..
7) Any other details or something you would like to share -
please dont go with any preconceived idea...i missed because of that....
Also last year i stopped studying 3-4 days in advance(which i am not used to) and i think my performance suffered
In colleage and school life i have been that sort of person who does 50-60% of the course in the last 4-5 hours before the exam ..
This time i did just that and studied like anything in the last 7-8 days....

SO DO WHATEVER WORKS BEST FOR YOU AND NEVER EVER TRY TO FOLLOW OTHERS Methods even they are great....

Hello Frnds...

Section 2- 24 = 9(LR) - 100% accuracy + 15(VA) (don't know )

2) last mock score - 94%ile (LAST CL mock)
Range - 80-94%ile in all CL mocks

3) Experience - Quant is the easiest paper as i think except 3 questions and one DI set is tough. Over all good n sensible paper. section 2 had 9 LR questions ( 3 sets - 2 simple + 1 moderate) n about VA - 2 PJ tough, 4 grammar SC - easy, 4 passages - 2 easy + 2 difficult , over all a good paper.

4) Surprise element - Nothing because if you are attempting CAT on 19th day thn you will 100% sure about the question's difficulty level.

5) Tips to handle Paper - attempt DI and LR set first in both sections

6) Your overall analysis of the exam: Paper was easy as i think, and everyone can attempt 45+ easily if your concepts are clear.

7) Any other details or something you would like to share - I didn't study for 48 hours before the exam and was only watching movies n movies. So No Need to take Stress. Go n give ur best shot. All the best you all for the results..!!!

My computer is placed like that There is direct sunlight on my face. It is difficult to read the screen. I covered the light by the prometric instruction booklet.

math is really based on very basics but at higher level. (i.e interest problem --but not on simple its on compound.)

7) Any other details or something you would like to share -

Overall good experience...not hoping for more...

Sinhgad Instt of Management Pune. 17th Nov. 3.15 slot.
1) How many attempts you have made and also mention the accuracy level.
QADI - 19-20 (I am generally as unsure abt my accuracy here as are many other people in VA)
VALR - 30 (This should be good enough)
2) Your last mock score? If you are there at http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/cat-an...ry-2011-a.html (Mock scores repository 2011) , please provide the link here.
In Siggi
3) How was your experience of the test?
Quite Good
4) What was the surprise element for you?
The surprise element was no element of distraction around me . Nothing as such in the test.
5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better?
Taking mocks should suffice.
6) Your overall analysis of the exam: Toughness, new topics, sections etc.
I am not a competent authority to comment on QA. But I think it was moderate. Not too difficult but not Super easy too. I believe I have nailed all the sitters barring a couple which I solved in the second half after finishing VALR . I think I should clear the cut off here.
The VALR section can also be termed as moderate. Two out of three passages were a bit on a higher side on difficulty. The VA also had a good mix of moderate and easy questions. LR was easy enough not to be able to be a differentiating factor between a prepared and an unprepared candidate.
7) Any other details or something you would like to share
No details would help anybody now. The window is over
Dream on. Dreams do come true. :)

CAT Centre, Date and Slot: Saveeta Engg. College - Chennai at 10.00am

1) How many attempts you have made and also mention the accuracy level.
QA-DI : 15 attempts over 90% accuracy (Could solve only this much in 70mins 😞 )
VA LR : 15 attempts over 80% accuracy (could not take risks)

2) Your last mock score? very low
3) How was your experience of the test? Awesome !!
4) What was the surprise element for you? Whole paper !! Think i was expecting too many tough questions but ended up very easily.. they were asking only basics !! Nothing else
5) Any tips to handle the computer based exam better? Time Time and only Time !!
6) Your overall analysis of the exam: Toughness, new topics, sections etc.

LR was bit moderate - need time to solve ... Verbal was easy. RC had 3 passages.. 2 were ok.. 1 was tough . DI 1 set was tricky . overall unexpected questions ! Was wondering wheather it was CAT or some other exam >> so easy and straight forward questions !!
7) Any other details or something you would like to share - If only i had few extra mins., my score would have been good... Time management is the key here !

much easy paper than mocks.
Section 1 : 18 attempt. DI all correct for sure. expected acccuracy 85%
Section 2 : 24 attempt. LR all correct for sure. VA with ambiguous options is unpredictable. expected accuracy 70%.
