NMAT v/s CAT
CAT & NMAT both are MBA Entrance examinations that are the most sought after examinations for MBA aspirants but they do differ in terms of what are the top parameters they are testing the applicants on.
CAT has a higher difficulty level than that of NMAT and tests students more on their depth of understanding on the subjects like Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning & Quantitative Ability. NMAT on the other hand is a test of same subjects with lesser difficulty level but the parameter on which the student is evaluated is Speed & Accuracy as it required us to solve 120 questions in 120 minutes up-till NMAT 2019.
NMAT 2020 now comes with the new adaptive pattern & structure with 108 questions in 120 minutes which is apparently going to raise the bar for students in terms of difficulty. The speed & accuracy is still going to be prevalent when it comes to NMAT.
CAT still comes across as a 3 hour paper and expects students to have a deeper understanding and applications of the concepts.
Note that NMAT needs to have its own preparation time. A common notion of considering NMAT prep inclusive of CAT prep doesn’t really allows one to make a cut. So do give NMAT mocks to build and achieve the level of speed and accuracy, that is required for the original exam.
