Engineers are blamed by commerce students for making the fight of doing an MBA from top B-schools a more competitive one. Right? Who would have thought that doctors would come out in the field of MBA and make this battle even more exciting?

MBA after MBBS? Is that a thing? Moreover, does it even make sense? Well, yes. It does. It is gaining popularity and it is a killer combination. What? Do you think we are exaggerating? Really? We thought all our trust issues were sorted by now. Never mind, read along and judge for yourself.https://leverageedu.com/blog/mba-after-mbbs/

What are the employment oppurtunities for mbbs candidates doing a pgdm/ general Mba from the top 15 b schools. From what i gather the majority are employed as brand managers or sales manager or some marketing role in a Pharma company(novaratis etc)

The minority are as healthcare consultants at consulting firms. I think there role is identical to management cosultants. Eg I know a senior who works in deloitte as a consultant after mba from IMT.

I have excluded the cases of those into investment banking intentionaly.

Can we discuss here

1. what other oppurtunities exist for mbbs mba candidates

2. How are the salaries in these fields and compare them to post graduate doctors(I feel only superspecialists and some exceptional ones can exceed earnings of mbbs mbas)

3.  how is the mbbs degree valued? pros and cons ? are we prefered or are the b pharm/bds/bams people prefered at lower salaries?

Can anyone guide me regarding how a doctor should write a statement of purpose? As a doctor going for mba, what can be your long term goals?

Hello. I'm a 4th year MBBS student and I wish to pursue MBA after my MBBS but it's kinda hard to convince my parents for this.

they ask whether there is any special MBA program that only MBBS degree holders can go for? They say you're gonna waste all your hard work and time of 6 years for something that could've been done after a simple 3 year course!

Im not able to answer them..please help. I wish to do my MBA from abroad .

My questions are:

1. Are there any special MBAprograms for doctors ?

2. Where and how shall I apply?

3. What exams should I sit for the entrance? And how to prepare for them?

Hello Puys and Pals,

If anyone with healthcare background (doctors, dentists, physiotherapists and the like) needs guidance on the application process, I shall be glad to help.

P.S. I am a doctor with an ISB admit

@tanmay141ucms From how I see this, it is not required to do MD Pharmacology and then pursue an MBA. There could be a number of scenarios which would help you achieve your objective. They maybe: MBBS-Work in Pharma-MBA-Work in Pharma, MBBS-MD Pharmac-MBA work in Pharma and so on....

@sgorana2005 Again too late and for benefit of all. From my experience, an MD/MS may not give you a significant edge in getting a B-School admit. A good and relevant work-ex with good GMAT shall help you get an admit; no need for an MD/MS. (Assuming you were asking me from an admit perspective)
