Life@IITK MBA, personal opinion:

Few days at an IIT campus, and you feel that its the second best thing ever happened to you (the first one being Love ;) ).

You carry your bike(cycle) and then astonished by the beauty of the lush green campus, whichever direction you go for ride. You stay in the Halls of RESIDENCE(not hostels 😃 ), which witnessed the stay of some of the brightest minds of the Nation, some earlier day.

You're served the food, which is comparable to that of home. You're treated with immense respect, whenever you step out of the campus; just because you carry along that pride and dignity of an IITian, with you.

You're driven constantly by the authorities, to pursue your passion, every single day, and not just academics.

You're provided with the best of equipment and facilities, at walking distance, and that too 24*7. With such enthusiastic people all around, you feel motivated and hardly miss your family (until your phone beeps with your mum or dad's number ).

Altogether you start getting an inner feeling, that what all wonderful things you'd have missed out in life, if your destiny wouldn't have brought you here.

Yes, I know, nothing can be perfect in this imperfect world, but as someone rightly said on the very first day of the program, "When you're part of this IIT Kanpur family, you stop criticizing and start participating!"

All in all, the initial few days vanished in the wave of a wand, and so will the upcoming 2 years.
But I'm certainly going to live this campus life to the fullest and enjoy every single day here, with my residence and batch mates.

Will try my level best to spread smiles around, with my presence and also will try and imbibe as much as possible, from each one of colleagues and seniors..

PS. Sorry for keeping it too long, but I'm just following my passion of writing.. 😃

The reason one does MBA is to know more how an organization works and what are the factors affecting it so that you can take an informed decision. Management Consultant is the one most sought after career after MBA, so to know more about it we organized a session with Mr. Gopesh Mittal, a consultant with McKinsey & Co. USA, a IIT Kanpur alumni. He provided us with many insight. For more information do visit our MBA blog at -

This is for the information of the aspirants that we have created a facebook page which would serve as a point of interaction. You could raise your queries there also and we would put in efforts to solve them as and when we get time. Also we would be updating pics and videos of the life at IIT Kanpur and various events to let you know whats happening out here.

The vibrant batch of MBA'2013 has talents in different forms and each of them unique in their own ways. One such talent has won accolades for the department and needs mention here. Though this event took place before Prabandhan it somehow slipped to be mentioned here.

Mr Alok Jain , an MBA I student in the IME Department was adjudged the 'Best Speaker Against the Motion' in the TIMES-AMS DEBATE 2011 held at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow on October 15, 2011. The topic of the debate was 'Youth Today is More Enlightened'.

Twelve teams from different institutes participated in the debate. Each team comprised two members from the same institute; one for the motion and the other against the motion. Mr Abhishek Malviya (MBA I) was Alok's team member from IITK.
Congrats to Alok..!

Hope to see many more awards like this being added to the kitty of the department..
