India Energy Forum has been organizing an annual national conference to focus on challenges and opportunities in the development of clean and environment-friendly energies over the years. These conferences have created a niche position and are attended by energy professionals and policymakers from all over India. EMPIans were privileged and took a keen interest in attending the 17th Renewable Energy Summit held on 14th Feb 2018, at Gulmohar India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. They brought with them some great experience and knowledge about the global climate issues and how India is setting ambitious targets in terms of renewable energy (175 GW by 2022), distributed energy systems, water conservation, energy conservation (National Mission on Enhanced Energy Efficiency), smart grids (smart grid mission with a clear roadmap), eco-friendly 100 +smart cities, smart and eco-friendly transportation including electric vehicles (National Electric Mobility Mission Plan) etc. In addition, India is committed to ensuring that our carbon footprint will be contained and India will, in fact, reduce emission intensity by 30 to 33% by 2030.
It is expected that management students need to have sufficient general awareness besides business related awareness. It was time for the EMPIans to prove their skills and it was tested by a Business Quiz Competition. It started with a written quiz test on questions based on Business, Subject Knowledge, Arts, Music, Sports, Mythology, and Current Events etc. And the final Quiz Competition was held on 13th Feb.
An inter-house Paper Presentation Competition was conducted at #EMPI B-School on 10th Nov 2017. The competition not only helped the EMPIans explore journals and indulge in research and academic writing but also engage students in different ideation activities. Isn’t it EMPIans?
EMPIans attended the 9th Nuclear Energy Conclave on 27th Oct 2017. It was interesting to understand the approach of the rapidly growing nuclear power industry and the strategy for making India a Global Manufacturing hub. A great learning experience indeed for EMPIans!
