UK PSW (Post Study Work Permit)

Since 2012, UK has removed the cakewalk visa for Indian students. That has caused a fall of Indians going to the UK from 50,000 in 2010 to 9,000 in 2016.

@Prayag_Raj While Uk has removed the PSW, it has not stopped students from staying back and working. You need to have a job offer in hand by the time your student visa expires.

@edventurebegins so I'm right. Also just a job wouldn't help. Min 35k pounds, sponsorship over a local candidate and guarantee by employer.

UK or not UK?

Well, a B grade college in India shall never make sense if you can study at an elite school. European schools are among the best ones in the world, explore more:

Hi,My experience in UK.Firstly to do MBA in UK you need at least 10 lakh Indian rupees for tuition fee alone even though you get a very good scholarship.

My MBA(2015-2016) tution fee was 20 lakh inr and I got 50% scholarship so I paid only 10 lakh inr towards my tuition fee.Living expense will be around 8 - 10 lakh inr for a year it may go higher and it depends on your living style.

Living expense can be minimised if you can cook everyday instead of buying food outside.

For those thinking of covering living expense in part time job. Please understand the reality is different not everyone gets part time job .It might take months to land in a part time job or you may not even find one.

My advice would be if you decided to join a university contact the aluminis from your country of that university and ask them if they did part time job and if yes try to find one with the help of them.

For those who dream to work in uk for few years or planning to settle in UK after studies , stop dreaming as this option is very much unlikely.Choose other countries like US,Canada or any other which has post study work visa.

For those who want to return back to india after studies and don't bother spending at least 20 lakh Inr to study then in my opinion can opt to study in UK.

Pros of UK MBA :

MBA degree not PGDM or PGPM

1 year

Scholarship

International recognition

International exposure

Cons of UK MBA

👍

Living cost high

Living cost highLiving cost high

tuition fee high

no post study visa

If you have the means then definitely coming to the  UK is a great experience. The education is good, the challenge of adapting to a new culture and the international experience will be very useful. however, don't put yourself under too much financial strain to come to the UK since be realistic about the visa rules and look towards previous Indians who have come to the UK to study maybe in the last three years as a good proxy of how things will unfold for you when you finish your course.

It is an intelligent move to calculate the estimated expenses if you are going for higher studies abroad. The UK boasts of having some of the most popular Universities of the World. So the cost of higher studies like the average cost of doing MBA from UK is pretty high than most other countries of the world.
