Being an alumnus of LPU i would prefer LPU. LPU focuses on the overall growth of the students. LPU is one of the best private universities in the country with best curriculum, world-class infrastructure, modern facilities and highly qualified faculty. It has around 25000+ Students across the campus in different professional Schools. LPU offers more than 200 programmes Management, Hotel Management, Computer Application, Engineering, Architecture, Design, Commerce, Fashion Technology, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Paramedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Education, Physical Education, Films, Animation, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Sciences, Arts & Languages etc. I suggest all students do an MBA course at LPU. Placements: Placements offered by the university for MBA course is very good. The minimum salary package offered is 5 LPA, and the highest salary package offered till now is 42 LPA. Some of the companies where LPU students for MBA are placed are - AMAZON INDIA SOBHA REALTY TRIDENT GROUP VODAFONE FLIPKART CAVINKARE PVT. LTD. ASIAN PAINTS BERGER PAINTS NEROLAC PAINTS MOODYS ANALYTICS LOREAL INDIA PVT LTD FEDERAL BANK HINDUSTAN UNILEVER LTD. GODFREY PHILLIPS INDIA LIMITED H & R JOHNSON LIMITED HAVELLS INDIA LTD. @Mehr07 MBA is a flagship programme of LPU, with many specializations and one coveted MBA Hons programme, it is one of the most sought after university for MBA. Both of the courses gives equal opportunities to the students, it just depends upon an individual what he/she wants to study depending upon the career goal. I want to highlight the points of edge of MBA(Hons) over MBA:

  1. Pre-term: Two weeks pre-term is conducted where sessions on industry sector analysis, business terminology, world associations, leadership and team building, companies that have changed the world, business leaders and thinkers, successful entrepreneurs etc. are conducted before the start of regular classes to build a common foundation for management education.
  2. Evening Activities: Regular experiential learning evening activities like theatre, workshop on dinning etiquette, meditation, group discussion, presentations, business games, outdoor activities, photography, clay modeling etc. are held.
  3. Residential Programme: This programme also provides opportunity to Interact with faculty beyond the classroom, easier access to a range of on-campus activities and resources for socializing and for building long lasting relationships which fosters peer learning, cooperation and teamwork. Stay on campus facilitates are provided to students for spending more time on the on-campus entrepreneurial ventures.
  4. More industrial interactions: As compare to the MBA programme, the students of MBA (Hons) are exposed to large number of interactions with Industry Experts.
  5. Additional Course: SIX additional courses one in each term aimed at enhancing entrepreneurial orientation and skills of the students. Support is provided by the university to start venture in the campus during the programme.

@Mehr07 I am an Alumni of LPU and have done MBA from LPU. I will share with you the comparison between MBA and MBA (hons.) in LPU with you. Firstly, MBA (hons.) is a residential programme i.e. student pursuing MBA (hons) will have to stay in hostel only.

In MBA (hons.) there is a pre term where sessions on industry sector analysis, business terminology, world associations,   leadership and team building, companies that have changed the world, business   leaders and thinkers, successful entrepreneurs etc.  before the start of regular classes to build a common foundation for management education.

In MBA (hons.) there are evening activities scheduled i.e. regular experiential learning evening activities like theatre, workshop on dinning etiquette, meditation, group discussion, presentations, business games, outdoor activities, photography, clay modeling etc. are held.

 As compare to the MBA programme, the students of MBA (Hons) are exposed to large number of interactions with Industry Experts.

In MBA (hons.) six   additional courses one in each term aimed at enhancing entrepreneurial orientation   and skills of the students. Support is provided by the university to start   venture in the campus during the programme.

I hope it may help.

@Mehr07 As far as I know and observed all the branches are equally good. Placements at LPU is a major known factor and the preparations for it start soon after joining classes at LPU itself and the students are guided until and unless they secure a job for themselves. To get placed in some company I would say it depends on your potential also. LPU provides ample opportunity for all students. As per my observance engineering at LPU is well known for its placements packages, then management and then any other course placements are rated. Certainly, LPU is the best engineering college for CSE. Lately, the number of admissions in the CSE department has been increased rapidly and has become one of the popular courses among engineering aspirants. It focuses on the basic elements of computer programming and networking. The average package of the university is around 5 Lacs per annum and the highest package offered to a student of LPU in 2019-20 was Rs. 42 Lacs per annum. It was bagged by a student of B.Tech. CSE student only. Parallely you can also think of management courses also as they are also well known and good.Take your decision wisely and one more thing note down that thinking of placements first and then choosing any course is not a better way to think, instead, think of course/programme you are interested in first as per your keen interest. Your knowledge, academics performance, hard work and exposure will pay you back when you appear for on-campus placements with the worthy outcome that what I believe. Hope the above information helps. Thanks.

Is LPU good for a BCA ?

@Mehr07

At LPU BCA gives students good technology knowledge, it is advisable to complete your MCA to give yourself a career-wise push. As far as I heard about placements in this university it’s good if you are a brilliant student and have good ideas and projects with you. The internship experience also helps. The average salary package offered is approximately around 3 LPA. But in BCA course, a lot of students consider pursuing MCA from foreign universities.

Some of the roles that one can bag after completing a BCA programme is that of a System engineer, software tester, junior programmer, web developer, system administrator, software developer etc. BCA graduates also have good employability opportunities in public sector organizations

 BCA Course at LPU is designed to build programming skills for developing efficient and resource optimized software/website/cloud/mobile applications. In simple terms, BCA. Programme has lots to do with Computer Science and programming. Students are given knowledge on topics like Programming languages, hardware and software, computer networks, World Wide Web, Database Management, Logic, Multimedia etc. After completing BCA.  LPU School of Computer Application is ranked among the top four Computer Applications Institutes of North India by NASSCOM. Students from all across India and 15 plus countries around the globe are expertly mentored by an experienced and proficient team of faculty members. Students have instant access to the latest technology labs like iMac, SAP, etc. That keeps them updated with the ever-changing technologies. Think wisely.
