@rucca Hi I have worked in CRISIL for 3+ years in their independent equity research division. To put it simply, a credit rating analyst will analyse a company's fundamentals, cash flows and liquidity from a debt servicing perspective, while an equity analyst will analyse the company's cash flows to arrive at whether the company's stock price has any upside/downside. Depending on the financial position, the credit rating analyst will assign a rating (A AAA etc) to the company which in turn determines the cost of debt that the company will get from the banks. An equity research analyst will forecast the financials, arrive at a fair value and compare that with Current Market Price and assign a upside/downside to the stock. I hope its clear 😃

@bournejason said: Dude, we are almost in the same boat Me too a B.E. 2010 pass-out. Interested only in Finance, specifically equity/capital markets. Whats your interest?I suggest u should find a job in a brokerage house. I am looking for the same option. Preparing for CAT as well, but my target is CAT 2012, as no preparation this time I am definitely considering CFA, but not as of now. My first preference is MBA. Coz MBA helps you switch profile/field, CFA doesn't. CFA is career/profile enhancer not changer.So what are you doing as of now...??
@bournejason : me 2 in same boat
