IIT Patna brings back the spirit of Anwesha

Anwesha, since its inception in 2010 has turned out to be one of East India's awaited youth festivals that sees participation from all over the country. This year, Anwesha's guest list includes several distinguished personalities such as the Chief Minister of Bihar, Sh. Nitish Kumar, Former Chairman of the ISRO, Padma Vibhushan G. Madhavan Nair, and Veteran actor and Politician Shri Shatrughan Sinha.

The seventh edition of Anwesha holds a pivotal importance in history as this is the first time the fest will be organised from IIT Patna's newly built 500 acre permanent campus in Bihta, Patna. Today, January 22, 2106, will be a delight for lovers of art and culture with performances by the Sand Art group and the Odissi Dance performance by Mrs Monalisa Ghosh. On the second night, the audience will see the participants on stage with their ramp walk during 'Verve', which will be judged by Ms Vanya Mishra, Miss India 2012.

 Anwesha held some in-house events recently which included a pan-Patna race and a flash mob. The Pan-Patna race, a treasure hunt across the city, is one of the flagship events of the fest.

Anwesha also puts forth a multitude of events, fashioned to suit the interests of computer geeks, gaming freaks, music and dance maniacs. The cultural team brings in a host of events like Heel turn, Maidan-e-Jung(Dramatics), Syngphony, Mr & Miss Anwesha. The fest also brings in literary events like Darpan, Assistente Literaria, Picsay and a range of quizzes and debates.

The technical and management committees hold many competitions like aqua soccer, static rush bridge building, vendre , stockmart and many other events that test the technical and management expertise of the participants. There is also a segment of online events like photography competition, tale-e-graphy and many more.

Apart from these events, Pro- nites are also a special attraction for the visitors. One of the attractions this year is the rock performance on the closing night when Euphoria will perform. Popular Rock bands like Sifar (2011), Faridkot (2012), The Local Train (2013) etc. have captivated audience in the past editions. This fest is an expression of the commitment of students at IIT Patna.

Cultural fests makes a college complete. Gives a chance for those multi talented students to perform and bring out their talent. Also, it serves as a good and healthy diversion for the students while it may mean more than a mere diversion for a few students.

@vikas.subra  I think cultural fests bring a spirit of togetherness in students. Other than the core subjects, regular curriculum in any college; organising any fest helps in learning about marketing, sales, hospitality. When do you think IIT-Tirupati will come up with their first fest?

Anwesha: A three day extravaganza at IIT Patna starts January 22

Anwesha, the annual techno-cultural festival of the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna (IITP) is scheduled from 22 to 24 January, 2016. Started in 2010 as an intra-college fest by the student fraternity of IIT Patna, the fest has exponentially grown, witnessing participation from all over the country.

The seventh edition of Anwesha, holds a pivotal importance in the history of this fest as this is the first time, the fest is going to be organised from IIT Patna's newly built 500 acre permanent campus in Bihta, Patna. Elaborate arrangements are being made to cater to the crowd and as well as many dignitaries and celebrities. One of the prime attractions is the rock performance on the closing night where, Euphoria will be performing. Auditions were also conducted across the cities of Kolkata, Lucknow and Indore to seek out the hidden talent.

The synergy of an enthusiastic team and sprawling infrastructure, has put together a bouquet of 75+ events and competitions ingeniously covering the spheres of cultural, literary, technical and management activities.

The cultural delight of the fest brings in a host of events like Heel turn (Dance competition), Maidan-e-Jung (Dramatics), Syngphony (Singing competition), Mr & Miss Anwesha. For the lovers of pen and parchment, the fest brings in events like Darpan (fine arts wall painting competition), Assistente Literaria: the great Indian Literary Wizard, Pic say (story and blog writing) and a range of quizzes and debates.

The technical and management committees hold many competitions like aqua soccer, static rush bridge building, Vendre (ad-making competition), Stockmart and many other events that test the technical and management expertise of the participants. For those who are unable to come to the fest, there is also a segment of online events like photography competition (clixx and forced perspective photography), telegraphy (short story writing) and many more.

Apart from these events, Pro- nites are also a special attraction for the visitors. Popular Rock bands like Sifar, Faridkot, The Local Train, Lagori, etc. have enthralled audiences with their live performances in previous fest editions.

The previous editions of Anwesha have also seen the performances of artists like Ghazal Singer Shri. Nishant Akshar, Bharatanatyam Maestro Smt. Priya Venkataraman, Hindi poet Shri. Kumar Vishwas and stand-up comedian Shri. Nitin Gupta.

It is and has been, as the name suggests, a quest for grandeur, opulence, creativity and perfection. Distinguished luminaries such as the Chief Minister of Bihar, Shri Nitish Kumar, Former Chairman of the ISRO, Padma Vibhushan G. Madhavan Nair, Veteran actor and Politician Shri Shatrughan Sinha have been a part of Anwesha in the past.

The vibe that transcends from the heart of an artist to the circuits of a bot, from the charged debates to the serene performances is simply amazing. The fest is certainly an expression of the talent fuelled by the passion and commitment of students. At IITP, Anwesha is a bubble of fun, frolic and expression that urges you to live your life, live every moment.
