This post might not be of much help to students this year because mine was the last slot out of all the interviews scheduled across the country.

CAT %le (OA, QA, DI, VA): 95.64, 91.88, 90.94, 92.10...Yes I know height of an average performance...:sneaky:
Work-Ex: 3 years (ERP Consultant)

Graduation Score & Stream:
XII score: 80.6, Science

Any other Achievements: IT-BHU alumnus
GD/PI center: Bangalore
GD/PI (date & time): 18th April, 1:00PM slot
GD/PI experience:
1. Essay: Can India outsmart China?
2. GD Topic: Google infringing personal space!!!
Since it was the last slot, it was a big group of some 12 candidates. Amongst them 2(including me) were for PGDM and rest PGDM-HR.
The GD went fine and was conclusive enough even after a bunch of 12.
3. PI Questions:
a) What is the meaning of your first name?
b) What is the meaning of your last name?:w00t:
c) What is ERP?
d) Something about PeopleSoft(ERP Suite)?
e) Your Job Profile?
f) Why did you wait for so long before going for MBA?:o
I thought work ex is good.

Thats it guys, nobody's interview was for more than 15 mins.
Keeping my fingers crossed for the rslts!!!

When are the final results expected to come ???

Buddy no offence meant. But lets not clutter this thread with such queries. Lets just put up our GDPI experiences alone here and direct all other queries to this thread for IMI GDPI call getters

Anyways to answer this query, as many seniors and other puys have pointed out, it seems in website its mentioned as may 10th, but then seniors we met at the GDPI centre said it may be out by last week of April or first week of May.

All the Best.

Was feeling lazy to type this all in till now. Sorry for the delay.

The best interview I had till date. Special thanks to Anurag and Ajay, the seniors who were there. They really made us feel at home, and finally by the time I went in for the interview I was very calm and composed and was able to answer all the questions. Thanks to both of them.

And as I see from other experiences posted here, I understand everywhere its like that. 3 cheers and kudos to all the IMI seniors.:cheerio: Hope I get a chance to continue this legacy as IMI senior same time next year.
My GD/PI experience
Course: PGDM(HR)
Date : 16th April
Center: Bangalore
Time : 1:00 pm
Panel no.: 1
No. of people : 12

There was a small presentation on TIBS and then we were given an application form to fill our preference(TIBS or IMI(Bhubaneshwar)). After this they collected our preforma.(You can fill it up at the center also. But, i feel it is better to fill at home.)

Essay:
Duration : 15mins
Topic : There is no problem in live-in relationships

Group Discussion :
Duration : 20-25mins (2mins for jotting down points)
Topic : Public transport vs Private transport (This is the basic idea of the topic. Actual topic was very big saying about public transport being better and to be promoted as it helps to reduce pollution, global warming, congestion etc)

Interview :
Duration : 10-15mins
Panel : 5 people (out of which only 3 people asked questions, say L1,P1 and P2)

L1: Tell us about your educational background from 10th till present
Me: blah blah blah..
L1: Nature and kind of your work?
Me: blah blah
L1: What is the recent Healthcare reform bill in US? (I'm working as Java developer for a client in healthcare industry in US, which I told in answer to previous question)
Me: gyaan
L1: What is your family background?
Me: blah blah blah

L1: Which bank do parents work in? (both my parents are bank employees)
Me: again blah blah..

By this time I started liking it very much and more or less getting an idea where this interview will be leading to.

P1: So Ajai you're here for PGDM-HR interview. You applied only to HR programme?
Me: Applied both. But even if PGDM interested in dual specialization of HR and Operations. So fine with HR alone also.

P1: Why MBA in HR?
Me: gyaan

L1: Tell me 5 things an HR manager is supposed to do in an organization?
Me: Counted and listed 5 things. Ma'am was also counting it out on her fingers.

P2: So you're from Kerala.
Me: Yes sir.

P2: You must be knowing pretty well about trade unions. What's your opinion. Is it good or bad?
Me: more gyaan. He started explaining something, then stopped mid-sentence. :)

P2: Tell me an example for a trade union?
Me: The only blunder I made in the whole interview.I said SFI. :banghead:

P2: SFI??? What is the full form?
Me: I started saying Student's Federation...and then I realized my mistake. So I said, "Sorry sir. I made a mistake. That's not a trade union."

P2: Its ok. You're a prospective student right. So tell me the correct example?
Me: CITU

P2: Full form?
Me: No idea. :splat: Made a guess. Communist __ Trade Union. Dunno what's for 'I' sir.
P2: Its not Communist. Not at all related.
Me: I'm sorry sir. I dunno. Will go back and check it up today itself.
P2: OK then. That's all.
L1: Nice meeting you Ajai.
Everyone else: That's all then. You may leave.
Me: Thank you Sir. Thank you Ma'am.

On the whole I think interview was excellent. I could not complete essay and had to stop midway in a sentence. GD was OK, and I spoke twice or thrice, with valid points added. Rest acads and work experience.

Xth: 77%
XII: 73.6%
Grad: 68.6%
Work-ex: 29 months in fastest growing company in IT industry.

Puys and seniors. What do you think? Waiting fingers crossed...

hi avinav2712

u have been very helpful really
u know i cleared jee-04 and i was completely relaxed after that ,but this time after firstly u get calls then convert them then arrange for loans , i think that there shud be a system where all the final result should be declared on one day ,so that u can decide which college u should opt for
lastly ur personal opinion which is better one kj soumaiya and imi ?

no offense for ant one............

Well, the system won't change this year for sure. So no other way than to just go with it for now.

About your question, comparison is not allowed on PG, but I would say that I had a KJ convert too before joining IMI.

1. Loan would be issued when you get a letter of admission, or can show some proof that you've got admission. Waitlisted candidates probably don't get loans.

2. Generally the amount is refunded in about 2-3 weeks.

3. No idea as of now.

I think you're not aware of the AICTE rule. As per that, if you've paid for any institute and wish to withdraw before the commencement of the course, the entire fee minus Rs. 1000/- is refunded.
