Founded in the year 2010 in a temporary campus in Yupia, Arunachal Pradesh, NIT Arunachal Pradesh is an autonomous university presently functioning under the mentorship of the National Institute of Technology in Durgapur.

Educating over 350 students in various academic courses, the college is one of the 10 newly set up National Institutes of Technology in the country. The permanent campus of the institute is to be set up at Jote, Papum Pare district, Arunachal Pradesh.

The institute provides various UG, PG and Doctoral programmes in Engineering, Business and Science consisting of courses like B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech, M.Sc., MBA and PhD. Like every other college, NIT Arunachal Pradesh address is easily communicable. It is connected via all modes of transport with the rest of the country. The institute hires nine buses and seven other small vehicles from state transport and private operators to facilitate transportation.

The social activities organised by NITAP include ATULYAM - the Annual Cultural Festival, Technical Festival ADDOVEDI and ROSHNI. 

• Library: The library at NIT Arunachal Pradesh keeps a rich collection of over 27,139 volumes, 32 Journals, more than 4,000 titles, and over 26 subscribed magazines, along with a large stock of departmental books. The e-journals preserved by the library include IEL online, Springer Link, Nature, MathSciNet, ACM digital library and science direct and also hard-copied journals like IETE, CSIR, IEEE, IE(I) and IUP publications. 

• Hostel: Currently, the number of NIT Arunachal Pradesh hostel is eight in total out of which six are for boys and two are for girls. The college provides transport facility to the students between the institute and the hostels.
