IIM Calcutta Admission 2024

IIM Calcutta course admissions for MBAEx program in 2024 are currently open for the third round, and the application deadline is November 23, 2023. The CAT 2023 exam is scheduled for November 26, 2023. In the QS World University Global MBA Rankings 2024, IIM Calcutta secured the 59th position. The Placements for the batch of 2023 at IIM Calcutta concluded with a 100% placement rate. The highest package offered was INR 1.15 Crore, with a total of 573 offers made by recruiters. The Summer Internship Placements for 2025 recorded an average stipend of INR 1.65 Lakhs, and the highest stipend reached INR 3.75 Lakhs.

The IIM Calcutta course admissions process comprises two stages. In the initial stage, a shortlist is released based on CAT scores, with a minimum cutoff of 85 percentile. However, the actual cutoff typically falls between 98-99 percentile. Stage 2 involves an online Personal Interview (PI) as the Group Discussion (GD) component has been eliminated. The final MBA selection at IIM Calcutta considers the overall performance in CAT and the PI, along with factors such as Academic Record, Work Experience, Gender Diversity, and Written Ability Test (WAT). Notably, starting in 2024, the Graduation score is no longer a part of the final MBA selection criteria for IIM Calcutta.

IIM Calcutta Admission 2024: MBA

The MBA Program of IIM Calcutta is a case study based design and aims to create excellent general managers and high-level decision-makers. The MBA degree of IIM Calcutta is a full time 2 year residential program. The course is designed in a 2 tier structure, consisting of Core Curriculum, Summer internship and elective courses. For successful completion of MBA program, a candidate must earn 93 credit points (excluding term papers) and a maximum of 105 credit points. 

IIM Calcutta MBA Eligibility

To be eligible for the MBA program at IIM Calcutta, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3) or equivalent in any discipline with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.

  2. For candidates who are in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree, the minimum percentage of marks required is 50% or equivalent CGPA based on their latest available grades or marks.

  3. Valid CAT score.

  4. Candidates must meet the minimum percentile cut-off criteria as set by IIM Calcutta in each section of the CAT.

  5. There is no age limit for candidates applying to the MBA program at IIM Calcutta.

IIM Calcutta Admission Process 2024 (Domestic Students): 

IIM Calcutta admission process consists of 2 rounds

  1. Minimum CAT percentile cut-offs to be considered for PI
  2. Shortlisting for Personal Interview
  3. Final Shortlisting

For Round 1: Minimum CAT percentile cut-offs to be considered for PI, candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria of IIM Calcutta, will be selected on the basis of CAT Score as per the cutoff released by the institute.

For IIM Calcutta course admissions 2024 for MBA, the minimum cutoff required for general category remained 85 percentile, however, the actual cutoff to get a call remained much higher i.e around 98-99 percentile.

IIM Calcutta MBA (PGP) How to Apply?

For admission to PGP (MBA program) IIM Ahmedabad conducts CAT, in association with other 20 IIMs of the country. To fill the application form, aspirants are requested to follow the given steps:

  1. Visit https://iimcat.ac.in.
  2. Click on New Registration.
  3. Fill in all the required details and provide a valid email and phone number.
  4. Applicants will receive a user id and password for further use.
  5. Enter the OTP and click on Validate OTP and submit after entering the Captcha Code.
  6. Check on “I Agree” and submit CAT application form.
  7. After submitting the details, a message on registered mobile number containing the Password and an email containing the User ID will be sent.
  8. Post successful completion of CAT Registration, a unique login id and password is generated.
  9. These credentials are vital for filling CAT Application Form 2021.

IIM Calcutta Admission Process 2024 (Overseas Students): 

Who qualifies as an overseas student?  As per the official website of IIM Calcutta, Interested candidates living, working or studying outside India during the period January 1 of the previous year to February 15 of the current year will be considered as ‘Overseas Candidate’ for admission to MBA.

IIM Calcutta MBA (Overseas Students) Admissions Shortlisting is done in 2 stages:

Stage I: In the first stage, a candidate’s GMAT Total percentile will be considered as equivalent to his or her CAT 2021 percentile. This would be used to determine the candidate’s Equivalent CAT 2021 score.

Eligibility: Candidates with a bachelor’s degree (minimum 10+2+3 years of formal education) or equivalent in any discipline are eligible for admission to Executive MBA at IIM Calcutta.

  • At least 5 years of full-time post-qualification managerial/professional experience are also required
  • 5% relaxation is granted for candidates belonging to reserved categories.

How to Apply MBA Executive at IIM Calcutta?

  • To apply for admission to the MBA-Ex Program, the candidates must visit the official website of IIM C.
  • Register by providing valid information.
  • Log in and proceed to fill the application form.

IIM Calcutta admission criteria 2024 for PGPEX-VLM

IIM Calcutta PGPEX-VLM (Post Graduate Program for Executives for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing) is a one-year full-time program jointly offered by IIM Calcutta, IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras. The Entrance Exam for PGPEX-VLM 2024 will be conducted in  four cities (Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi) as per applicants preference.

Eligibility: 

  • IIM Calcutta considers First-Class Graduate Engineers with First Division/ First Class Marks from Secondary Examination onwards for PGPEX-VLM Admissions.
  • Self Sponsored Candidate should have a Minimum work experience of 4½ Years to Maximum 10 Years of work experience in manufacturing, engineering, and related sector; holding responsibilities in production planning and control, research, design and development, quality control, plant engineering, maintenance, supply chain, construction, etc.
  • Sponsored candidates & Candidates on study leave need to have a minimum of 4½ (four and a half) years’ work experience only, with no upper limit of experience. 

IIM Calcutta PGPEX-VLM Selection Criteria

IIM Calcutta will shortlist the eligible candidates on the basis of  written test based on eligibility and evaluation of SoP. Shortlisted candidates have to appear for a written test consisting of Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, and Engineering Ability. The written test will be conducted in four cities (Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi). 

Final selection will be done as per candidate’s academic records, work experience, and performance in written test and personal Interview.

The above mention performance indicators will be used to prepare a final merit list. The college will not offer any admission as per the reservations rules and IIM Calcutta course admissions will only be merit-based. 

How to Apply for PGPEX-VLM at IIM Calcutta?

To register for IIM Calcutta course admissions to the PGPEx-VLM program, the candidates must visit the official website of the institute. Submit the duly filled and signed online application form along with the application fee of INR. 3500 via online payment using Debit/ Credit Card or Using Net Banking.

IIM Calcutta admission criteria 2024 for PGDBA

Admission will be granted on the basis of PGDBA Entrance test, after which the shortlisted candidates will be called for a Personal Interview. As per recent admission policy, IIMC for final selection considers only class 12 merit excluding the Class 10 merit weightage from the process. The PGDBA entrance test merit has increased by 5 points.

IIM Calcutta offers doctoral/ research programs in the field of management for a duration of 2 years. 

Eligibility: Candidate should have First Class Master’s or Postgraduate diploma (2 years) in any discipline and a three-year Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in the aggregate.
