Army Institute of Technology (AIT), Pune Overview

Army Institute of Technology, Popularly known as AIT Pune was established in 1994. The then Chief of Army Staff of Indian Army (COAS), General B.C. Joshi was made the President of its Board of Governors. General S. Roy Chaudhary inaugurated the Institute on 24th February 1995. The first batch of students was commenced in 1998. It is affiliated to Pune University.

The institute offers various engineering courses on different academic levels like undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate. B. E. and M. E. courses offered in the institute include subjects Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering etc.

 AIT Pune Admission Process

All the applicants are admitted to the engineering courses on the basis of the marks scored in the qualifying exam. In AIT Pune, the qualifying exams include JEE Main (Joint Entrance Exam) and GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test Engineering).

Candidates are required to clear these exams in order to get admitted to the institute. JEE Mains is followed by JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counselling round. This round leads the candidates towards personal interview round.

AIT Pune Result and Cut off

Candidates are selected for admission in a particular course after the cut off list is announced. Applicants who take admission under AIT Pune merit list are only eligible.

AIT Pune cut off list sets up a certain score every year for B. E and M. E candidates. B.E. candidates consider JEE Mains cut off list and M. E. candidates the GATE cut off the list. B. E. candidates have to cross the JEE mains cut off score and M. E. candidates have to cross the GATE cut off score.

The cut-off list is prepared on the basis of factors like a number of participating students, their scores in the qualifying exam, difficulty level of the qualifying exam and the personal interview round score.
