CBSE to become Water-Efficient in Three Years

Though rains have shown an abundance of love in western parts there is still water crisis appearing in India, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has mandated schools to become ‘water-efficient’ for the next three years by adopting systematic methods of water storage and managing regular water audits.

According to the recent report by NITI Aayog proposed an alarm that 21 cities in India including Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad, understand the lack out of groundwater by 2020, affecting around 100 million people.

As per the water conservation reports framed by the board for its affiliated schools, the schools will be required to displace old fixtures and appliances with water-efficient models, and also install automatic taps with sensors for better management to avoid wastage, and double flush tanks on priority, securing regular check-ups for leakages and their immediate fixing.

This condition has occurred due to inefficient water storage systems though we are aware it’s already a choice anymore. So, as we walk towards better and improved work making it mandatory for all affiliated schools to achieve the goal of growing a water-efficient school within the next three years.

The symbolism of a water-efficient school shall not only be pondered in infrastructure but also majorly in the practice of use of water by school making the students understand the sensitivity towards water conservation.
