CAT 2018 Registration

How to Register for CAT 2018?

Registration process for CAT 2018 is conducted online. The online registration for CAT 2018 was open from the 8th of August to 26th of September, 2018.

Candidates must provide and maintain the following throughout the examination and selection process:
– Valid and unique Email ID and a mobile phone number
– CAT User ID (this is provided via email after completion of the online registration process)

CAT Registration Fee

SC, ST and PwD category candidates ₹950
All other categories of candidates ₹1900

The payment of the CAT exam fee is to be made in online mode. The CAT exam fee can be paid during online registration itself. Accepted methods of payment include a valid credit card, debit card, or net-banking facility.

Documents Required for CAT Registration

Educational Proofs
  • Mark sheets of Class X, Class XII, Bachelor’s Degree and/or higher education
Identity Proofs
  • Scanned images of passport size photograph
  • Scanned signature

(These should not be older than 6 months prior and photo should have a white background)

Reservation Criteria Proof
  •  If you have chosen NC-OBC, SC or ST as the category, then you need to upload the relevant certificate.
  • If you are a PwD category applicant, then you need to upload the relevant PwD certificate.

Step by Step Application Guide

  • Candidates need to register first at the official website in order to generate the login credentials.
  • Go to the official website, iimcat.ac.in, and click on ‘Register Now’
  • The candidate must then enter the required details including personal details like Name, Date of Birth, Email Address, Mobile Number in the fields provided.
  • The CAT USER ID (serial no.) will be sent to the email address provided by the candidates and the password will be sent through SMS to the registered mobile number. This is a type of verification process.
  • Next, login and complete the application process which broadly involves:
  1. Filling in personal and academic details (with upload of relevant documents) and information about professional experience.
  2. Selection of courses being applied for (it would be useful to have this written down)
  3. Selecting the exam/interview centre.
