Books to be referred

Since the syllabus of the exam is same as the syllabus of the higher secondary examination, candidates are advised to follow the same books as base materials. Since the syllabus is same for other exams like JEE, preparing for one exam would help you in scoring well in other exams too. It is always better to refer to one single source for one particular topic. Referring to too many sources for one concept would create unnecessary confusion. Some of the important books that have to be referred are given below:

  1. Concepts of Physics Volume 1 and 2 written by H.C.Verma
  2. Understanding Physics Series by D.C.Pandey
  3. NCERT books XI and XII for the subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
  4. A book on Physical Chemistry written by P.Bahadur
  5. Organic Chemistry published by Arihant Publications
  6. Maths series written by S.K.Goyal and published by Arihant publications for having an in-depth understanding and practice

Nowadays, it is easy to get the books as it is available online and it can be ordered through the various websites. Select the books which are easily accessible. While getting the books, select those which are given in simple language with a lot of examples and exercises. This is more particular in the case of the Mathematics. While reading the concepts in a book, underline or highlight those lines which you feel to be more important. This would not only save time but also help you in quick revision.

You can find a lot of coaching institute materials in the market. Use them only as supplementary source. Apart from that, you can also buy some question banks and solve them. It is advisable to get the question banks with solutions. This would help you in analysing your own answers in a better way. For some of the concepts which you are finding difficult to understand, refer some of the trusted websites which would give you better clarity on those issues. Remembering various concepts by means of videos would help you in retaining the concepts in a better manner.
