is there any possibilty to change your GDPI schdule. I recieved email from XIME today afternoon. I want my interview to be held on last week of march so that I can manage my IFMR interview.
My chosen centre is Bangalore. My scheduled interview date is 16th march. they mailed just 11 days before interview. No trains available.

I had called XIME for rescheduling. They told me to send a mail on [email protected] and they will consider rescheduling if the reason is genuine enough.

Topic: Should FDI be allowed in retail Industry in India?
Number of Ppl present - 15 (I was the only girl)
Time: 30 mins approx
Brief Snapshot of Discussion: Most of the people were for limited FDI should be allowed as long its benefiting the economy. other areas covered were unemployment, effect on consumers, and bla bla.. It was pretty fine and went smooth for me. Was worried if the topic would be about some issue which I have no clue about. But it was good.
Other Salient Details: We were asked to choose on a topic and a brainstorming session started. We weren't able to decide on one, so when one guy mentioned FDI, the panel choose this topic. We weren't asked to submit any essays or write anything. It was a direct GD.
Time given, and other stuff. 2 mins to think about the topic. thats all.
Your views about the GD: It it was just based on "GD" alone, I would probably still stand a chance. :(

Questions Asked: Lol. It started with GK and ended with GK for me which is my weakest area. It was a torture so the best I can remember now is,
I was asked what does my dad does. So I said he is a stock broker. They asked me do you invest? and I said yes, because I have invested in the past. So i was asked questions about SENSEX, and the US/Europe market equivalents, etc. (I knew little about it and some stuff I dint know about, so i said "I dont know")
Then as my work ex is from a travel agency, I was bombarded with questions like,
1. Chancellor of Germany
2. Foreign Minister of Germany
3. Exchange rate of Euro
4. What was the currency of germany before euro.
P.S. I knew oly the exchange rate of euro among the above questions. :(
Other general stuff was:
1. population of TN/ India
2. Foreign minister of India
Your views about the PI: Pathetic is an under statement.
Does anyone know how much the PI plays a role? Like is it points based or something?

Everyone is not asked the same questions in PI. there were ppl who werent asked a single question about GK and just some stuff about education and family.

Yes, you can mention IFMR. It will not give any bad impression as they know that every student tries in other institutes also. I changed my XIMB dates citing GIM's GD/PI clashing with XIMB. They were very helpful and changed my dates within 30 minutes.
They might ask you for IFMR call letter's scanned copy. Again not all colleges ask for a proof but XIME might ask for it because when I called them yesterday, they said they will consider rescheduling if the reason is genuine enough.
You can mail them now without the call letter's copy and citing IFMR, if they ask for a proof them send them the proof also.
Posting here a GD/PI experience that I found in the admission thread. It will keep all the GD/PI experiences in a single thread. 
I had my GD/PI in chennai today !!! It started very well !!! I was the first to reach the venue.
Then doc verification started by 8.30. Then by 9.10 they gave a paper and gave some 12mins to write down our points on a paper. It was an essay prior to our GD !!! The topic was "Should English be introduced in standard 1 to improve the quality of education ? " As usual 99% spoke for it ! And only 1 guy gave points against it too though not completely. He supported but at the same time spoke abt the other side too.
Then PI started in the same room where GD took place. We all moved out and ppl were called one by one. Ppl who took first told questions were too tough and they were more number/figure oriented like population of chennai/TN/India, Poverty rate, other rates and stuff. We started prep answers to it ! But finally when my turn came, I stepped in. They saw my profile(application) and askd my cat score card. Returned that back - spoke to me generally. No gk questions ! Jus askd where all i ve applied ! I answered and they said I can leave. 😃 😃 😃 Tat was it ! A max of 5mins but def not more than that !!!
So keepingmy fingers crossed . . .

Questions Asked: I was asked only personal qs like about schooling, marks, extra curricular, about family. They were very gentle and friendly.

the GD topic was "should professional education progressively be privatized".
In PI no questions like, intro urself, y MBA etc...
The following questions were asked to the batch today including me...

what is China's GDP?
what is the biggest electronic company in india,singapore,china and the world?
what is the biggest bschool in india,singapore,china and the world?
what is the no of bschools in India, world, west, east except singapoe?
what is the no of engineering colleges in India?
what are the requirements for AICTE to approve a bschool?
Largest Foreign Electronics company in India?
(note: the electronics must be replaced by ur stream, other questions are common). Overall. it was like a tech interview. when i went and sat itself, they asked the biggest elec company... all the best ...
Seniors, I have a work-ex of 14 months in a BPO but post-class XII. Hence, I had a gap of 2 years b/w XII n Engg. But, I have not mentioned it under the "Work-Ex(If Any)" category in the XIME application form as I didnt know that BPOs are considered for work-ex by B-Schools. What should I do now to bring their notice towards this issue because a Work-Ex will certainly add substance to my above-average profile? Moreover, it will fill my 2-years gap period effectively. Also, how am I going to get separated from the freshers as my application form is the same as theirs. Shall I make a call or write to them...confused !!!

2. My mom's designation was SS. He asked theres a famous expansion for SS in 2nd world war. Do u know it. I said i dono. Also he asked how do u expect us to understand all these abbreviations, I said there was not much space.
3. Did u have any arrear in UG
4. Will u quit ur job?
5.Why u think u should be selected in XIME.
Your views about the PI: there was no general MBA qns for anyone. Many statistics qns for others. Dono how they r judging.

Questions Asked: I was asked only personal qs about extra curricular, about ma dad's designation like which dept he belongs to in his office. They also askd where else i applied. They were very gentle and friendly.
Your views about the PI: They asked qs on population numbers, percentages, ratios, capitals etc to others ofmy slot. They had their reasons. They were very friendly and made us comfortable. Finally be cool !!! Do well !!! Whatever has to happen will happen !!!
