Hi All!

This is Shailee, a current student of the HR leadership program from the School of Inspired Leadership(SOIL).

: to the official query thread for SOIL for the 2011 batch admissions!

Hey All!

Apologies for the delay..we are having a pretty hectic schedule out here at SOIL of course with a lot a learning happening all the time with the 2nd term coming to an end.

Coming back to the discussion, the admissions process will commence around october 15th this year. SOIL is presently considering GMAT, CAT & XAT scores. Nevertheless, candidates who submit a good GMAT score will have an advantage. The emphasis however is more on the quality of the overall application especially the essays & the work experience. SOIL takes a Caliper test, which in my personal view is an amazing test for knowing yourself from all dimensions. It looks at the behavioural traits and multiple intelligences. And these over time have shown a positive co-relation with performance of top employees, reason for many companies using this assessment .This is why SOIL requires students to take the caliper assessment.

I dont think SOIL will be applying for AICTE approval right now as the curriculum etc. is decided in partnership with the industry consortium. The industry recognition has been reflected in the last years placements.

Regarding the visiting faculty, the students have their contact numbers and email-ids and remain connected even after the course ends for resolving queries about the course if any and for any other general advice on some project. In our batch, such a strong bond has been built between the external faculty and students that even they remain connected with the students.

Happy to answer any other queries.

Thanks Shilee for starting the thread to help the prospective and interested students.

@Delhitaurus

I have got a update from SOIL Admissions team.
1. As mentioned earlier, the admission process is expected to start around 15th October.
2.The application essays will be the same as last year..
3.The first round of application deadline would be either by mid December or early January, would be updated on SOIL website in near future.
4.GMAT scores are highly encouraged, but you can also apply with CAT scores. Apart from these scores, Caliper test (Personality assessment test) is mandatory to appear.

Hope it clears your doubts.

"Miles to Go Before I Sleep"

Is it a one year program??

@Delhitaurus. For your query regarding Internship, i would like to mention that it is an ongoing process and is being well received by many companies. For the first roll out for MLP there are companies which have shown interest are Canon, Grant Thornton, TVS, Siemens, Maruti Suzuki, ACC, SAS, Kohler, and many more. Many people have already got internship offers from FMCG majors like Dabur, etc.
@oneyear.. All 3 programs offered by SOIL are of one year duration. Please go through my previous post where i have mentioned links to various courses. It will give you more clarity about the course structure and application process.

Thanks

Hi friends,
I am Ankur Sehgal, part of the Human Resources Leadership Program at SOIL.
I will be assisting my friends from SOIL to clear your doubts/queries and will guide you through the admission process.
As I was going through some of the previous posts,I got to know that some of the prospective students were keen to know about the questions that were asked last year at the time of applications.
So, please find below the questions that were asked previous year(2010-2011 batch) :
Recall a time when you have been at your best and did your best work. What does this teach you about your own strengths and gifts?
If you had all the time and cash in the world and were to build an organization of your own, what would you like to create?
If you were to relive the last ten years of your life what would you do differently and why?
If there is one thing you would like to change about yourself what would that be? What have you done in the last 12 months to make this change happen?
What do you hope to accomplish over the next 12 months in our program? What difference do you plan to make to your class and to your school during this period?

Thanks,
Ankur Sehgal

Normally you would get to know if you are shortlisted within 3 weeks of your application being submitted.

Hi,

I have a question on BLP. There is a fee difference in the BLP and the other two programs. Is it that number of contact hrs are more in BLP then the other two? Or ....why is it so?
Secondly, I have a decade of experience in Life cycle management related to manufacturing industry and already I am drawing more salary that is the average salary of SOIL. Do you suggest me to go to this school and reinvent myself.

Third, I have not taken any XMAT,GMAT or other MATs.....to apply to SOIL Do I have to undergo anyone of these exams...is it compulsory to appear for GMAT, CAT..etc

Also, How many full time faculty does SOIL have...can I have numbers please? I have heard that visiting faculties are more here then Full Time? Is it correct? I mean Faculty at b-schools are not just teachers, they are mentors also. How will mentorship happen if your professors keep changing?"

Thanks in advance to reply my queries.

I have few Qs

1)Min experience required to get into soil?
2)Avg pkg offered to freshers?
3)Is the placement 100%?
4)Fees?

Must be an issue with the software pulling the wrong variable from th DB. If you call them on Mon I'm sure it can be fixed easily
