To begin with, I would like to share a tip.
I personally feel, is that Mock Cats, through out the year, make us highly unsuitable for performing in FMS exam. 25 questions each sections make us too slow. We start having a "goody goody" feeling, once we cross 10-12 questions in exam. So first thing is "COME OUT OF CAT". We have to go to exam with a feeling of "Hurry but don't panic".

Feel free to ask more queries.

Nitesh

Hi Nitesh,
Awesome score!!

You have rightly pointed the need to move ahead of CAT.
Please share your attempts in the paper...approximate cut-offs...number of vocab questions in VA section, level of LR questions.

Thanks.

Exactly, i had around 99.64 last time but luck lady has different things in store for me!! Things are very different in FMS as compared to CAT....... Its all about speed and mind game!!
It would be my pleasure if i could be of some help to PUYs!!

My vocab is not up to the mark. Can I cover it up with other type qs in same qs.How will it hamper my chances in FMS. Any tips to improve by answering capability(i know vocab cant be improved jst lyk dat) in vocab qs in the 3 weeks left. Some1 who managed to scrape thru te test with an avg vocab pls share some thoughts.

my vocab is nt also dat good 😞
wht shud be my strategy in last few days to cross 50% mark in va section of fms :(
pls help me

hello every one ,

well puys...it will be my first crack at FMS...if sm1 can brief me about pattern of the paper ( no. of questions , level of difficulty...etc..) i have been goin through questions of the level of snap and nmat since CAT...hw different it will be in fms...it will be a grt help for me to plan out for FMS..thanks

to all

I am 1 fms old.. this is my second attempt.. well to give the first timers an idea of how the paper was at that time.
the paper was a lengthy one 175 questions to be attempted in 120 mins with a +4/-1 scheme..
Sections Area No. of questions Attempts I
Logical and Analytical Reasoning
50
28 - 30 II
Reading Comprehension
40
16 - 18 III
Quantitative Ability
50
23 - 25 IV
Verbal Ability
35
18 - 20 Total
175
85 - 100
i fine split of questions with logical reasoning on the easy side and VA on the tougher side .. there was little higher maths with easy questions on limits and derivatives( so puys u can simply glance through the formulas of higher maths). vocab was intensive with some idiom based questions.. DI/DS was absent..

overall i would say try to work strength by strength with a motive to score maximum..

Regards

Sectional cutoff 50 percentile seems to be quite low at least from the CAT perspective. Does it mean, we need to rather look for maximizing our scores in the area where we are more comfortable? As there are four sections, ideally the time distribution should be somewhere near 30 min for each section. But if sectional is low, can we safely spend less time say 15 mins in RC and 45 mins in QA etc.?
