going through the newspapers regularly should suffice. no. of questions varies from year to year but expect at least 20 questions in this section. there is a good mix of all kinds of questions ranging from general gk to current affairs. keep a track of company brand ambassadors, mergers & acquisitions etc.

Dont leave the GK section till the last moment. Start reading the newspapers daily and be aware of what is happening around you, as it would also help you in the interviews during the later stages. Read about the various products that the top notch FMCG, Auto companies, etc are associated and come up with...the various Brand ambassadors. The CL and TIME booklets would just provide the final touches in ur last minute preparations.

As per the no. of questions is concerned, the pattern keeps changing every year. You can get a hang of things when you'll give mock papers.

Aditya(Assuming that's your name, sorry if i got that wrong),

Most coaching institutes give you memory cards(flash cards). The idea of these cards is to help you remember words. TIME gives you a set of flash cards, ask any of your friend at TIME to get you a set of Flash Card.

Now the reason that i say vocab is important , is that there are 160 odd flash cards in the TIME set, if you can revise them over time on a daily basis, you WILL NOT FIND ANY WORD in any examination that you wouldn't have come across in the Flash Cards. This necessarily implies that you have 10 questions in every paper that you know even before seeing the test paper....translates into 10 bonus marks in under 3 minutes. All it takes is 40mins daily. But please revise the cards that you have done before everyday or else you will end up forgetting them. In 20 days you will be surprised where you have reached by doing this.

I would like to know the difficulty level of IIFT compared to CAT and XAT and whether preparation for CAT will suffice for the exam, or we need to prepare specially for it.

Also, is the GK section scoring and how can one maximise the score.

IIFT makes a tough paper than CAT. However, it should be noted that it requires a different strategy. People atempt around 45-50 out of 60 in CAT. This is not the case here. You need to select questions depending upon your strenght areas. But its too early to go into strength and weak areas now. As of now, make your basics stronger. Give mocks and analyse each mock thoroughly. That would make your foundation stronger. To add to it, practise last couple of years of IIFT papers and mocks. To get the actual feel of IIFT paper u need to do last year papers and mocks.PM me in case u need some last year papers and mocks in soft copy.

Rohit, www.TCYONLINE.com is the site where you can find most of the exams last years anallysis, question papers and answer keys.if you find something interesting please post here. and stay active its just 122 Days left for IIFT.

It purely depends last year they dont have any sectional cutoff......but in 2009 they have ..........so be prepared with each and every section and all maximise ur scores:p:p:p:p

what about CL flash cards? aren't they any good??
