Hi
I have completed my Bachelor's in Pharmacy which is a 4 yr course. However according to my university rules marks of only 2nd, 3rd and 4th years are counted towards aggregate of the degree and not the first year's marks. Now my aggregates by this method is less tha 60% which is the eligibility criteria for giving FMS. However the aggregate is more than 55% which is the eligibility criteria for a 3 yr course. What should my course be considered as?
Also, does pharmacy come under medicine/ Engineering technology or does it come under sciences according to FMS. Pls clarify this from the authorities if u can.
Thank You

Hey devang,

I converted on the second try myself.
There is no difference at all between a person who gives it the second or third or n number of times.
in fact u can utiilize this as a point in ur interview that u showed immense interest in FMS thats why u gave it again and are motivated enuff to gv it again....
Hope it helps

Cheers

In layman terms.. How is life@ MBA(MS)... etc..

I have gone through the website but couldn't get more than the fact that it is service industry specific.. So pls throw some light on it.

Hi phoenix..
You can gather the placement details from the following link:
Final Placement @ FMS: Class of 2007 takes off in style

As for placement process, we do follow a common placement process i.e the placement week is common and the students from both mba and mba-ms take part in it in North Campus.

Please feel free to revert back in case of further queries

Hi George.
As you can gather from the website, the course is service industry specific. This program has been designed to specifically meet the managerial needs in the Service Sector.
While we have the same faculty as the regular MBA program, the course structure differs. A lot of emphasis is given on people skills and team building which are paramount in the services sector. These are in addition to the normal courses that are taught across B Schools.
In the second year we get the unique opportunity of doing a Parallel Specialization: we don't have just Functional Specialisations (such as Marketing, Finance, IT, HR, etc) but also Sectoral Specialisations (Financial Services, ITES, Healthcare, Hospitality & Transportation etc.)

As for life @ FMS-MBA(MS), its as good as life in any top notch B school where you have so many things to do, but you just dont find the time to actually do them. We have regular conclaves, guest lectures and interaction with the whos who from the industry.
Our batch size is very small(44 to be precise) and this works to our advantage. We know our batchmates and our seniors very well and this helps a lot in bonding between people. It also gives a chance to all and sundry to participate and contribute to every event that happens on campus.
There is no end to work here at FMS-MBA(MS). But this is what makes life fun.

Do feel free to ask any further questions

Riddhi

Hi Riddhi

Thanks a lot for the response.. Sounds exciting.. Few more doubts.. How different is total cut off from MBA(FT). Any particular profiles expected?
Is there any advantage for work ex candidiates?

As of now, the only change in the admission procedure that we know of is that percentile rank for the overall score as well as the sectional scores shall be disclosed.Am not very sure if there would be any sectional cut-offs or not this year. As soon as we get to know any thing regarding this, we'll be informing you. about it..

However, considering the pattern of FMS exam, the strategy should be to get optimum scores in all the sections, in addition to a high overall score :)

Feel free to shoot back in case of any queries

Hi George,
Just to give a backdrop, the admission for FMS-MBA and FMS-MBA(MS) used to take place through seperate entrance tests.
However, this year there was a common entrance test for both the courses where in the cut offs for FMS-MBA(MS) were higher than that of the MBA course.

Hi,

THere is no confirmation of this fact.

also regarding the sections...it is a general perception that u DNT need to do well in all sections. I myself didnt attempt many questions in the LR las year. and also the questions were all mixed up....so sections didnt matter till the last time.
U never know of this year's pattern.

Cheers!
