I had a score of 105.5 last yr...missed out due to GK(5)..
I just want to knw if SIBM-P will continue the same kind of admission proces which it had followed last yr..i.e., selecting only a small number of people for GDPI..or will it change d process..If its going to do the same thing(crashing d hopes of many students by selecting a few guys) den im definitely nt going to apply for it..

am sorry mate 4 dt debacle..... but coming to ur ques.... d selection 4 gd/pi was done keepin in mind d ratio of calls to admits..... last yr(2010) 1000 odd ppl were called... and we have a ratio of 1:9(out of every 9 people who comes for gds..1 gets selected...so expect dt number to remain)....but mind u dis is not d official info 4m coll....dis is just a personal observation based opinion....hope u make it dis tym arnd...

Going by ratio u say 1:9..den dr shud hve been around 1600 calls..since dr r about 180 seats..but very few had been called last yr..dat was a set back to many students...i seriously hope dey dnt resort to such tactics dis yr again..if so dn SIBM-Pune is gonna have a lot at stake...
no i have confirmed news of more dn 1000+ ppl being called.... d ratio mayb not b reliable(mah mistake... arnd 1:7) ratio....but defenitely more dn 1000...so its absolutely on d basis of snap scores....

I saw somewhere that they asked the fees to be deposited by 23rd Feb. Is it true??
This raises a doubt in my mind.
Till this date none of the b-schools give their final list for their entrance.
What happens if u already have a call from other institutes and are waiting for their results.
I mean if it is so early, then it is going to work only for someone who doesn't get any other calls. What are the fee refund rules, if any??

I'm particularly interested in Marketing Management.Can you give me a detailed list of companies coming to Sibm to recruit from Marketing? Is the information displayed on the website of SIBM abt. placements true? Are those companies really coming to SIBM? If I get admission to SIBM and join the college, will I get something better than my current compensation and designation? Is SIBM worth ( leaving Tata Motors + 9.5 lacs + 2 years of rigorous study) ? Awaiting ur reply.

calls r entirely based on snap scores..... then when you come here for your gd/pi.... then there is emphasis and a certain amount of marks 4 work ex..... so dont u worry.... work ex is always helpful....
n just 4 facts.... we have a 70:30 ratio of work ex to freshers.....

ya like this year our final list was out on 9th feb..... n d ppl on the 1st list had to deposit d fees by 23rd because after that the 2nd list will b coming out.....
n about calls..... yes....sibm is the 1st to come out with d final list and that does raise a bit of doubt amongst candidates bout whether to stick to it or not.....
but under UGC act....u r entitled to full return of fees with a deduction of 1000 bucks if u intimate sibm within a stipulated period of tym..(generally till may end).....so dont worry about results n all.... u can submit the fees and if u get a better opportunity u can always apply 4 reimbursement of fees..u'll only lose 1000 bucks....

ya u r right..... d 26k paid for pre-induction program is nonrefundable.....so u effectively get bak your entire amount-26k........ but ppl aspiring to study in a good college should look at it like an investment..... if u get a better opportunity then well and good.....else you do have that to fall back on to.....and specially when u r spend near around 10l for course fees....i dont think 26k should worry ppl that much.... but still this is a personal opinion..... always open 4 debate...(though am not looking for 1).....:P

what is the total fees for 2 year course along with hostel and other expenses for ur batch.
its 9.35l including acads, pre-induction, hostel n mess......

Hi there,
Yup its very much true that the results for SIBM, Pune comes in the very beginning of the year ie. Feb & the students are asked to pay the fee in a span of 3-4 weeks.
Regarding the fee question its the same for any institute, SIBM expects the student to pay the fee in 3-4 weeks, coz there are many waiting list people in the queue. More over u get maximum part of the fee refunded (excluding the pre-induction fee) if you are withdrawing your admission. Its conveyed before itself that the pre-induction fee is non-refundable...its non-refundable, coz thats an extra effort put in by the institute...
they are giving you course material + you are provided with a login Id on the induction portal, where you have regular assignments & tests.
Even for those who have withdrawn their seats, still they can continue with the induction course as they have already paid for this foundation course, also it'll be helpful even if you join any other B-school.
Regarding the point that you r waiting for the result of other institutes, you have to take a call. On one side SIBM is giving you the security of a confirmed seat & the other side you really don't know what the result is going to be for other institutes. So if you think the risk is worth taking, make the move...
