Time to rejoice and have unlimited fun is back with MANTHAN '11.
A place where the crme de la crme of all the B-Schools compete with each other, Manthan is meant to churn out the best future managers through various activities which test their managerial skills and wit. After its tremendous success last year, it is again that time of year when students of various B-Schools await 'Manthan' to prove their mettle. Last year the events attracted more than 700 participants from over 40 B-schools. And this year Manthan is back with more events, greater flow of brainwaves, tougher competition and greater fun & frolic.

Don't worry about the passport. Just talk to the management about it before you come to be on the safer side.

Seniors I have few queries again
1)Do the classrooms & hostel have AC???
2)Do we have industrial tours???
3)How many persons are there per room in the hostel???

Lastly,I am reaching college on Monday morning,my parents will be coming with me & staying that day,in the college itself.So do I have to inform the college about that, before arriving,or not???

The whole academic block is air conditioned. No ACs in hostels. But the weather is so good all year round that you won't be needing air conditioning anyways. Some people still use blankets in the nights here. So I guess you got an idea about the weather here.

2)Do we have industrial tours???
No. We have more than enough interaction with the industry through seminars, workshops, summits, etc. All the head honchos of various firms come here to share their knowledge with us.

3)How many persons are there per room in the hostel???
2 people in each room.

Do I have to inform the college about that, before arriving,or not???
Its better that you call up the college and book a room for your parents in advance. They charge a very nominal fees for that. Somewhere around Rs.150-200 per room including food. Its ok even if you don't call but then the availability of rooms might be an issue at that time as many students will be coming.

As mentioned on the site that laptop configuration must be "i5".. as "i5" configuration is not so common... and I do not have "i5" configuration with me also..,,, I have the "dual core" .... So,,,?? we have to purchase that before the commencement of the course or we can purchase after some days ??? as seniors are saying that you can bring any of the laptops here,,, "All will be accepted".... so what to do know??.. can we come without laptops ....... ???? I am asking this because that if we all purchase the laptops in a bulk there may be some discount also!!

Yes you can come without a laptop. You can purchase it 1-2weeks after joining too. That's what most of us did last year.

1. Mentioned in previous posts.
2. Just bring any laptop with 1.5hr(1 lecture duration) battery backup. That's enough. Leave the rest to us(your seniors). You'll get all kinds of softwares here.
3. Bring whatever you like. There is no restriction on that. You can bring posters n all too to decorate your room.
4. Weather is awesome here. Very pleasant, cool and not humid unlike Mumbai.
5. Enjoy as much as you can before joining. You won't get much time after your course starts. Time just flies once PGDM starts.

well got d conformation letter yesterday,applied for loan..now they are saying it will take 14 days to issue the loan....most probably i would be coming late by 1 week,so will it take a serious hit on academics(6 days of class)???
nd will the admission comittee consider my case...
i know i hv to talk to prof patwardhan,but did it happpen with some othr guys last yr?

No issue. Just call up NIASoM. Yeah it can take a serious hit on your studies but then you can come to NIASoM initially and then go back home when your loan is being sanctioned. It happened last year too and people in our batch did the same thing. It happens every year with some students. But its better if you attend the classes from the beginning as they help you in understanding the basic concepts of insurance.
