Good question!
It is generally accepted that marketing guys climb the corporate ladder the fastest. The reason being that they understand the market/consumers/competition better than anyone else.
Also, strategy making and execution is a work that they do on a daily basis. This skill is absolutely essential for leaders.
Having said that, there are numerous examples where people from other fields also have risen to the very top. But I personally have observed that most of the top guys were marketers.
P.S. Consultants are also highly sought after to lead companies for obvious reasons.

Hey... the complete answer was given by Nishant already but just had to add a few points to what he said. From what I have observed, Marketing definitely makes u a front runner for the topmost positions in most of the companies mainly because your performance can be transparently and easily measured, and most of the times your performance (as a marketing/sales guy) would matter the most for the company, but at the same time there is a tremendous downside, please observe that only a handful of the 100s of marketing guys reach the top position in a company, this shows that your performance would be highlighted not only if you perform brilliantly but also if you fail (need not necessarily be miserable). So finally if you perform, you would be on top, but if you dont, get ready for a pink slip. Sometimes in the other secs, you can take a middle of the road approach but in marketing, its either do or die. Hope this would help.

No intention of spreading rumours, but I heard that there's a lot of drug trafficking going on at TAPMI. Folks of one of my acquaintances refused to send him there because of the same reason. Any truth to it seniors?

Ha ha... Well the entire campus is a no smoking no alchohol zone and any violation against that would lead to strict action which mght also be as heavy as suspension. So I dont think I need to mention about drugs. Whoever gave you that info, I would encourage him to come and visit the place for a clearer idea.

Can my VA perctile or BE marks play spoil sport if I do well in GD/PI.

In short is sectionals considered for final calls?? and to what extent can BE: 55% play spoil sport??

The weightages for different modules like acads, cat score etc are given in the previous posts.

And there is no sectional cut off this year.

So u have a broad chance. So prep well for gdpi.

I haven't recieved any communication mail from TAPMI from the very beginning. I have made to the cut-off list but still haven't recieved any mail. I clicked on the PG connect link and saw there that already some guys have got the mail regarding their GD/PI dates. Can anyone here please help regarding this. Whether everyone has got the mail. Do I need to contact the admin office for this? If yes, could someone give me the number.

What chance do i have in converting the call... I Have 4 yrs work exp in field of dance... but it was only part time officially..

Does Tapmi look into profiles that are off the track??

Also post some exp and topics for Gd which would be of great help in preparation

Part time experience is not considered by the college. But you still have a fair chance of making it through.

Dear Sunil,

U have excellent chances of making through. So prepare for gdpi properly. TAPMI always looks for studnets with diverse backgrounds which would only increase ur chances.
