I am sure we are all aware that our behavior (read discussions and postings) on public forums like pagalguy will determine the regard accorded to our institute as well as ourselves. Thank you guys. I do agree with your point of view @Whoelsebutme. Faculty in the biggest strength i saw here. Believe I have personally interacted with few of these visiting faculty. They are amazing. So able shoulders we definitely are sure of. And what i like is the small batch size. I have got an I/W Call. I will be attending it and will see how things go from there. I am in a quandary whether to apply to this institute or not. What is bothering me the fees. Would this insti provide a good ROI? Wanted to know how you guys decided upon pursuing this course from a relatively new institute, whose first batch hasn't been placed yet. Another problem is I don't have any idea of the experience the current batch has had so far.

Maybe Admitted Puys or Senior could help me with the thought process. You might have followed some criteria while apping here. Please Help

The help/feedback from senior AIIM students is most definitely lacking...I'll give you that. What I console myself with is the thought that perhaps they are just too busy to bother about "Pagal" guys/gals :P

On a serious note, I guess almost all admits will avail some amount of loan. So, you will definitely find a lot of kindred souls here who are still unsure of the ROI. Personally, if I have to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea...I'd rather take on the sea, armed with a sturdy life-jacket.

So instead of wasting another year over pining for some other better known insti, or pitching my faculties against another computer adaptive test, or slogging away to unknown glory, I decided to dump myself on the able 'shoulders' of the highly qualified AIIM faculty.

Exceptional teachers can turn good students to great individuals and leaders...but that's just another personal thought.

Honestly, I am impressed by the overall package. Only thing I am sceptical about are the placements (which might turn out to be good),the market value fo such a specialized course and the fees.

When I started researching and defining Infrastructure management, I realized, that while many may think of this as a specialized course, infrastructure could and does encompass any resource based system. Infrastructure does not necessarily have to mean bricks, cement, mortar and the like. One could even argue that manpower is also very much an infrastructure.

A pass out of AIIM will only be as restricted in his/her career choice as they think themselves to be. But that is just my take.

For those who plan to apply in the second round, wish you all the very best. I was a tad skeptical about the institute at first too.

But when you speak to Dr. Dholakia and the other faculty during your interview and understand their experience, drive and determination, you can't help but want to be a part of their institute and benefit from their guidance.

I have no doubts that with such people at the helm, the institute cannot fail.

As I mentioned before, the placements are yet to happen. As this is the first batch, it is not possible to show any other reports as well. Besides, AIIM starts its course later than most courses. Hence, placements would also start later. The placement report would be published once the placements have happened.

All Whartons and ISB's have had similar experiences I am sure and even websites like pagalguy etc are not at all giving any opinion about such institutes. Lets face it...Puys are not fools. Nobody makes a comment without any data. The mantra is to wait and watch :)

Is this course recognized? I recognise the ISB course...would you agree? Which all the companies apart from Adani will recruit from here? Ummm...maybe you should ask the AIIM board of governors this.

Basically what value add will passouts from this institute will do to companies? Good question Does company need those value adds? Good question again - Lets wait and watch..what say? Normally Infra companies look for TECHNICAL-EXPERIENCED-DOMAIN PEOPLE, as is generally seen even in campus placements. REALLY??? Secondly are the Infra companies are good pay masters? Good question ofcourse you can not expect fresher or people from core IT to think of this institute. :( But yes may be people who has +2 yrs of exp in some infra company with lower package will try for this thinking they may get some way good package. :(

Another point is, since this course is the new one, only those students who did not make through other institutes will only try, hopefully the avg ones but in no way the best ones. Boo Hoo :(.... You mean the outlaws :( So the exposure/interaction may be questionable. Boo Hoo again It would have been ideal if only +5yrs exp people in Infra (directly or indirectly) would have been considered. Than yes variety, knowledge and matured interaction would have been certainly there. Hmmmm...

The only good point i see is Dr Dholakia is the person who is driving the institute. So may be in future if this institute COLLABORATE with other foreign institutes, something what ISB did, than ofcourse it may turn out to be a good one. But at the same time as most of the faculties are from IIM, going for such move looks dark. HUH!#@#$?? Are you implying that the IIM faculty/alums are no good??? I hope you know that even Mr. V K Menon (of ISB) is an IIM alum. Also, ISB Mohali which is scheduled to commence in 2012 will have specialization in Infra as one their course. But it will have brand name attached to it. Guess this answers your very first question about workability of customized MBA's :)
