i do not have my 8th sem marksheet with me....only today it is out...as m leaving for jamshedpur tomorrow so could not go and collect it too...but i do have provisional certificate...for the regestration it was mentioned that both provisional certificate and all sems marksheets are required...otherwise we are required to bring a letter from the principal that results are not yet declared...but since my planning failed as marksheet is out late so couldnt get the letter too...would the provisional certificate all marksheets upto 7th sem would suffice...

The induction process is gonna be really smooth.
If you are not on the wrong side of law (or rules), then u r not going to face any problem.
So, in case u do not hv the resignation certi or final marks, it doesnt matter. But you should have a tentative idea of when u cud produce the same before authorities...

The registration wud occur again for before the next term (sumwhere in Sep). You are expected to completed the remaining formalities at that time. For now, just bring watever certis u hv - as in 10th, 12th, grad marks, etc.... XL admin is very helpful...
But in case u try to mess up and fudge up info, then expulsion wud be the thing u wud face in no time...

Ofcourse, I need to think about the money being deducted before taking a final decision. Because, it matters to me.
But, the funny part is that the admin says "Bare minimal fees will be deducted - less than 50%". 50% means Rs. 1.3 lakhs. Bare minimal? And they dont confirm the exact amount nor the means to calculate this amount.

Dude, if Rs. 1.3 lakh can affect your decision of choosing between IIMC and XL, then I seriously suggest you to think about why you want to do MBA...
Both the institutes command good reputation and have been rated among the top 5 institutes of the country. Components like fees shud never even cross one's mind. Admin ppl wud not hv been sure about the amount since this might hv been the first time for such a query.
I still suggest you to decide the insti first and then think bout other things. And try to make the decision asap to save ur money...


PS: I hope it doesnt hurt you, but try to see that ppl with not so well financial backgrounds shud also not worry bout fees... You r going to make big bucks soon and loan option is always available...

I have converted IIMC where I was earlier on-hold. I called up admissions office to confirm how much refund of fees will I get and I was informed that it could mean "a lot of money" but that the lady didnt know the exact amount as it was not yet decided.
But, as per AICTE rules, a fees of only Rs.1000/- ca be cut if I withdraw my admission before the course starts. Tougher refund norms laid for institutes - School & College - Education - MSN India

Since you hv converted IIMC and want to join it, why are you thinking about refund and making enquiries. Just apply for it asap. And talking about AICTE rules, try to read between the lines too. 1000 bucks are deducted only till a particular date which was mentioned in the XLRI prospectus (smwhr in May). I cannot comment on the exact amount which might be deducted, but can assure that it would be according to govt norms.

But what you fail to understand is the reason for this deduction. 1000 bucks is like peanuts (considering paying 8-9 lakhs for a course). So, no one will ever feel the need to withdraw his/her admission. And the waitlisted candidates would be waiting till eternity. So, institutes assign some dates for withdrawl after which the deduction increases. I know it hurts, but its for the greater good. In fact, you have been able to get admission in IIMC only because someone else withdrew his/ her seat...

Just send ur request to XL admin quickly to save max amount...

now i hav been lookin at say fr exampl.....hp lappies.....
now the closest i hav got to t8100 is t 8400 of hp in the dv4 1230 model......and it does nt hav evrythng like media card redaer etc.....
howevr at a slightly lowr prcssr like t6400 in the hp dv4 1265 model,i'm getting the card reader et al.now what i want to know is it necssry to hav the recomnded prccsr capacity???or will a lowr capacity one like t6400 work just fine???wat did the seniors use??seniors pls post configurations u used and the lappy model u bought.pls suggest......
btw the t6400 coms with significant price benefit.and can anybdy pls come up with othr models......matching the above confi???along with the price???

The confi mentioned is correct... Its an awesome lappy...
You can compromise a bit on processor... wont affect much... but do try to get the insurance... I mean our lappys hv a 3 year warranty too along with the above mentioned features

hii seniors at XL,I am planning to reach jampot on june 12th instead of june 13th as is mentioned in the offer letter..:) will it be a problem or we will be given accommodation on 12th also incase sum1 like I reach one day early?

Ur rooms are allocated about a week before the commencement of the programme. So if the d-day is on 13th, then ur rooms wud be available from 11th itself...
