dear puys

i am passing out B.E in info science , in bangalore , i got infosys job as a system engineer. i am in a dilemma because i got E & Y job as an analyst under IT risk and assurance , package is 2.5 lpa + benefits, but this is not a coding job . i am confued whether i must take infosys or ernst and young , infy salary is ctc 3.25, i want to know certain things

1)which job profile is better ?
2)will i be given maintenence in infosys for this salary ?

plus i will do am mba in one or two years

i need urgent help regarding this matter

go 4 E&Y; .. i hope that is a full time job they r giving , i ll say stay away from IT if ur planning to do mba even though the pay diff is of 50k but a different and interesting job profile is way better than finding urself at a deadend after 3-4 yrs when u will actually seriously plan to do mba .

this kind of profile will help u to stand apart from 1 lac similar candidates with IT background , i still remember my IIMK intrvw where the panelist just showed their plain disinterest to intrvw candidates frm IT background. for the fact one of the panelist just blurted out 'another guy frm CTS ' when i just entered the intrvw hall :P

and i mean it, growth in audit firms is pretty good , if u somehow manage to get into marketing profile after a couple of yrs then u ll surely get a gr8 compensation too.

yes hydra and skrull will be a better choice .. but personally i want to see the return of crimson dynamo or leader (from the hulk ) in later marvel series . but also thanos is not a bad choice at all :P
and regarding TDKR , i still miss the riddler and penguin , even in tim burton s batman penguin was a more menacing villain and riddler could be a well substitute for joker (a deranged villain we miss a lot).

i am still waiting for a solo flash movie .. besides batman he is the second best character (totally my opinion) we have seen so much of superman that it is now tending to predictable and it is no hamlet that we can like it everytime .

i liked the first part of the underworld series ..and like resident evil series it is also losing its charm ..though awakening is better than evolution .

i am withdrawing for further arguments ..i still believe there is specific audience for nolans movies ..and certainly ppl who r die hard fans will find hard to take its flaws sportingly .

lets move to other directors

batman comics turn dark mature & mysterious way before the movies with frank miller's dark knight franchise & my fav 'hush' series

while uptill date marvel comics like their indian counterparts r hero oriented action packed stuff

but its upto the director how he wish to portray a character on screen u ve ur artisitic liberties & vision as for eg throughout the batman universe ra's al ghul is immortal but in batman begins to bring him at par with the 'detective' nolan gave no such impression to viewer except "isn't ra's al ghul immortal??aren't his methods supernatural??" ( my fav line from batman begins .... the way liam neeson says it instant turn on) but in marvel they did not tried to take a more humane or darker prospective .......

& then marvel post iron man appears with almost 3 films in a year of 3 diff directors & 3 characters while dc (if we leave bad projects like 'jonnah hex' aside) is still being lead by nolan so his impression is clearly visible

but even marvel ve its epics to tell ........ 'civil war' 'planet hulk' 'ultimate alliance' in 2000 era only it has all these superb storylines which can be presented on screen & each of them is so gigantic that they can ve a franchise of their own (each ve so many inter mingled plots sub plots that i ve been hardly able to finsh 50% of any of them) ...... & they not at par with the batman comics but r mature strong captivating scripts ........so its not that marvel has always chosen a vision of a teenager & thats why directors r just being honest to the baseline


i totally agree reflecting the baseline in the screen adaptation should be the primary focus , if dc would ve not been done that in "green lantern" this movie would ve been totally disastrous the way they depicted the green lantern cops & their initiation & all the characters of green lantern universe ..... now thats what u call screen adoption & it was all going till then & once our beloved hal jordan return back to earth remember how lame the movie turned so yes being honest is imp but a director is not merely converting a comic into a human version he has to show his signature & influence over the character

u r again missing my point my friend , TDK lacks a little conviction , see in IronMan , jon favereu tried his best to make iron man character realistic as possible(though it is not once mandarin is introduced in subsequent parts) but see in batman begins / tdk ..batman is shown larger than life yet vulnerable for most of the series ..i am looking forward for a more humane and flawed batman in TDKR ..tony stark is shown as a normal human ..narcissist, egotist , living in materialism , but wayne is shown on some path of self realization away from corruption but haunted with his past .
Now i rank civil war at par with frank millers tdk ..but above both i rank alan moore s watchmen , and its a pity that zack snyders watchmen was a financial failure .
It was inevitable that we had to compare avengers with TDK as it has made the same box office impact as tdk ..but still i stand with my view that if nolan leaves his darkness / mysterious nature of storytelling and try to venture into commercial cinema he will fail . also having 3 different in marvel directors made some impact because the charaters were not much popular ..not many ppl know abt hulk.cap and thor ..also hulk was ruined by ang lees flawed casting and misdirection ..though edward nortans hulk did repaired the franchise but ruffalo is the best casting ever
i believe stories can be told without being getting overtly serious/moralistic and mysterious . some of the best xamples are robocop 1 ..it was heavy on emotions and thrill but darkness no no ...

talking about overrated stuff i would like to ask the ques i usually put to movie fans .......... is there any indian guy out there who actually dig or love "star wars" ........... lets leave americans out they r obsessed with aliens & zombies .......... but is there actually a world wide liking for this franchise !!!!

well the thing is every1 judges movies with his personal taste/preferences ......... comic lovers like me treat nolan as 'god' as had it not been for him no1 would ve ever appreciated 'superhero' as a genre ....... just think about it tim burton did it badly (for me this guy is top notch overrated ....... his latest 'alice in wonderland' was mediocre crap)than joel schumacher almost ruined my hero & should ve been banned for it ........ sam raimi re started this league in a manged way with 'spiderman' but it was only "spiderman 3" which reached 8/10 aka awesome status in my eyes .........
so the genre re started in 2000 but see how badly it was going with movies like daredevil ,catwoman, elektra ..... no 1 give a crap & in 2005 nolan came with 'batman begins' & everything changed forever ................... marvel appeared way later in the picture in 2008 with iron man ....... & there also it was style not depth ; its just robert downey jr is born to play tony stark ....... even still in "avengers" its all cgi (sadly i missed the 2nd most anticipated movie of 2012 for me) .......... so had it not been for nolan the superheros would ve been disappeared from the silver screen by now !!!but this guy even made the hardcore art house lovers turn their heads & ve a look at TDK .....
thats why for comic geeks around the world nolan is a virtuoso !!!

sorry bud there is a good disagreement from me regarding ur statement that iron man has all style no depth , first of all , all the superhero movies are inspired by their initial comics version . tony starks journey of becoming iron man is portrayed almost in a similar fashion in comics too so scriptwriters cant do much abt it .regarding casting i think batman begins didnt had the best of central character i.e Christan bale , though he was satisfying but not the best like jhonny depp of pirates series or as RDJ who were well suited . the sequel ran mostly because of the darkness in the storyline and of course heath ledger . avengers in one movie which has least of serious but well portrayed scenes . it shows one need not have the psychological darkness to say that he has depth in his story work , this convoluted theory works well for nolan lovers but for the audience to get well connected with the screenplay darkness/seriousness is not the essential ingredient . a well scripted movie like inglorious bastards can have the same impact on the viewers psych as tdk .

and lastly i still believe TDK and the prestige are the best work of nolan brothers, inception, batman begins,memento has flaws being overseen .

Who do you think is the most overrated director(s) in hollywood?

1-Clint eastwood .I don't think he has even made 1 movie that could be called a flat out masterpiece.

2-Alfred Hitchcock .He is good,really really good.But i find his movies excel in the details,atmospherics and mood but compromise on a few other things.

3-Christopher Nolan
(This will get me a lot of flak,i guess)

there are some ..like robert rodriguez ..who mostly makes gory movies .unlike quentin tarantino who has a cerebral effect in his movies , rodriguezs movies have sheer violence .
james camerone too is overrated so is ridely scott , i dont remember any movie after the alien series ..now waiting for Prometheus though.
and yes apart frm memento,prestige and TDK ..nolans are overated .
some directors worth watching ..steven sothenburg (the oceans 11,12,13)
tony scott (top gun, deja vu, unstoppable) ...also thr is one director in woody allen who makes some of the best dramas though thr r some boring ones too but

finally some place where i can share my story too ..i did my b.pharm in 2010, then worked in CTS as a soft. tester for 23 months (i resigned recently due to sheer disinterest in IT) and got admits in Tapmi, kj-ib,nit-t,nirma etc . i scored 92.95%tile in cat 11, scored 94.XX in cat 10 and 92.xx in cat 09.. though always aimed for iims i somehow missed evrytime ..this yr i had calls frm iimk and iimr pgdhrm but rejected in both ..now i am in a lurch and want to get into IIMs via cat 12. though i am afraid of wasting my 1 yr due to the unpredictability of cat so i am taking admission in tapmi and planning to write cat again this yr .
also i feel that i shud be leaving tapmi only for top old IIMs and not for other ones even if i somehow manage to get them ..if this plan not works then i may continue in tapmi and work for 4-5 yrs and go again for a ex mba from a decent univ. from abroad.
i dont know that what i am doing is right so need some suggestions ...please guys help me ..
