@Arun : Sorry man but may be the condition is pathetic because its a old hostel i got Zanskar allotted and its better than my expectations .Its 2 sharing and it has 2 cots ... 2 computer tables.... 3 plastic chairs.... so seems to be fine to me.. food quality was ok okk... So i guess we are sticking to our lan of meeting today at Nescafe canteen.

I too have been allocated Zanskar, happy to hear the description :)....Anyways cya guys tommorow. Do let me know whether u ppl decide finally on formals or casuals for the orientation.

hello friends i have some important information....
after reading what starvoyager had posted....

1) i called up the DMS office...where i was told that i have been alloted GIRNAR hostel...
then they directed me to another number 011-26591706 for further enquiry..
the official at this number told me that the 15000 rs. draft is supposed to be drawn in favor of...Director, IIT Delhi GIRNAR Hostel....
and not Vindhyanchal hostel...
i asked him if were supposed to draw those drafts in the name of director vindhayanchal hostel...but he re-affirmed that it was girnar hostel...

i discussed this matter with starvoyager...
and apparently there is some conflict in the info available with both of us...

so we think that it wud be better if we wait before making those drafts...
we can get them made after we reach iit delhi...
or anyone else can also call up the office to get further info...


2)thanx to starvoyager, he has also found out that we can make that rs 15000 payment in cash also....
for this we need to get a challan from the respective hostel and deposit the cash at the sbi branch on campus...

but he also warned that ATMs on the campus are temporarily not workin , so we could be required to carry cash with us...

3) friends...so finally what are we goin to wear on that day...21st...

let us quickly arrive at a consensus..

Another query on the lines of the last two-three posts...

we need to make following drafts:

1)Hostel Seat Rent : 6300 : Registrar, IIT Delhi
2)Mess Security : 3000 : Director, IIT Delhi (Respective) Hostel
3)Mess Admission : 2400 : Director, IIT Delhi (Respective) Hostel
4)Mess Advance : 9500 : Director, IIT Delhi (Respective) Hostel
5)Membership SCS : 0100 : Director, IIT Delhi (Respective) Hostel

Now please someone let us all know that can we club together drafts from 2 to 5, and make a consolidated draft of 15000 Rs. as the recipient in all these drafts from 2 to 5 is the same person....

yes i guess that had it been the case the authorities themselves would have asked us to make just two drafts of 6300 Rs. and 15000 Rs.
but still had a doubt and thought seeking clarification might help...
as it can also be the case that they have just provided us a particulars list of what all components make up Rs. 15000....

any inputs dear fellows...

Sorry for my ignorance that i didn't go through offer letter throughly, but do we actually need to make so many drafts.....I thought only one for full amount would suffice....Kindly clarify seniros.


Also can anyone throw some light on the orientation programme. What is the timing, duration and same for the registration and stuff so that I can plan my travel and accomodation accordingly. TIA

IIFT had sent out final calls to some waitlisted guys a couple of days back... Dont think there is any chance for more calls now since session starts on 1 July....

FMS came up with its 6th waitlist and about 20 ppl have been called for admission.

Well that's gud news. Pls anyone who has taken admission in MDI, i know it's a herculean task to find out some time from already hectic schedule but if you can update us if anyone is leaving his/her seat, it would help a grreat deal. TIA

can you please ask them that are there any withdrawls still happening........also if they can use the emails to contact the waitlisted candidates.....i am 7 waitlisted now don't want that the final list moves by 5 or 4........

Hey buddy

I think wat you can do to maximize your chances is to collect some information about the people selected in this wait list and people above you for the next and try to contact them. If they have taken admisssion somewhere else and do not wish to join NITIE, make them send a non acceptance letter or email to NITIE so that when the list moves it would not consider their name. I think that's what FMS waitlisted guys did and it is reaping them fruits now. ATB

Yaar all those ppl were called today for counselling. They accepted drafts from ppl who got admission i.e. till 630 for PGPM.

Is anymore movement expected in waitlist. When is the session starting finally???

Admissions are closed as of now, the pgpm waitlist closed at 630 and pgpim closed at 648.

For PGHR there were 3 seats and PSL was the last guy to take it up!

There were 20 seats in PGPM and 1 seat in PGPIM.

Guess its SP Jain for me then... good luck guys!!

Well that's correct description of what happened there today...To add to that for PGPM after 630 there were 7 guys till 650

632, 634, 636(myself), 640, 643, 647 and 648.

I am WL at 3 now. Guys pls pray for me now, i badly need it. Hope some miracle happens.
