Hi folks, its been really a while(since July 2nd he he) since i have had the notion of sharing my experience @BIM. well time really flies by here. First day in college is always a sweet memory, we had a ice breaking session which was really fun filled and made me to reaffirm the fact that i have made a wise decision to join here. The first day at class was even more enriching when we were handed over a marketing class which were close to 30 pages and were told to come prepared the next day. That night ended at 2am when we came to conclusion for the case. Following weeks we had so many moments like the trip to local places, marwar which is a marketing event here (where 3hrs of sleep a day becomes the maximum requirement), freshers night, DJ nights etc in addition to those numerous corporate lectures from industry experts to understand the practical application of management education. Never in my life have i imagined that i would not be satisfied with 24 hours a day wish there were more....... well we have our mid term exam starting from tomorrow so its time to fight with the books... will keep updating things as time permits cheers

They will be given a waitlist number cos last year my friend was given Waitlist number 3 and he converted. I do not know if this waitlist number is specific to the quoatas tho

Initially there was a brief intro for about 40 mins on IFMR, their courses and how each one are different

Then a topic for the essay were put up on the ppt and we were given 30 minutes to complete the same
Topic: How India can protect itself from looming global economics crisis (something on this context)
Wrote a pretty decent write up

Then we were provided snacks (Kudos to IFMR :cheerio::cheerio::cheerio:as this was the only college where i was provided snacks) and we called in order for PI

PI panelist comprised of 3 people, P1(an elder woman), P2 (foreigner and p3 (a medium aged person)
P3: U come for this XXX company
Me: yes sir
P3: Tell me about it
Me: Told
P3: what part of it are you from (xxx is a conglomerate)
Me: Told
P3: Have u come across anyone from IFMR in ur company
Me: No sir
P3: you know anyone who has done mba from IFMR
Me: told
p1: tell me why MBA
Me: Told
p1: you seem to be stressing on strategy, now what is strategy and decision making
Me: got a little over excited and started speaking
P1: do u understand what u r saying
Me: calmed down and then explained again
P1:tell me why inflation was so high
Me: told her about the food inflation but before i could bring in the rising oil prices issue p3 intervened
P3: since you seem to be so into strategy, have done any back ground study with respect to IFMR
Me: No sir
p3:so then why IFMR
Me:told
P2: so you studied from this place
Me:yes mam
p2: so what is the current political scene there
Me: told
p3:Ok then thank you
Me: thank you sir

Called up the admission office and they informed me that the calls for all the exceptional candidate @Chennai have been given out. The result can be checked in their website by EOD.....

Seniors can you please confirm whether all the exceptional calls for chennai is out or can we expect few more tom ?????

My friend too made it at XAT 91.XX percentile i guess they give exceptional calls for people with 90+ percentile
