Check out the ESCP website for admission details.. but they dont take any exam score.. its based on profile/application form... if u get admitted, they will ask which campus u want to study in.. and u choose india for sem 1.. its simple..

Is there any advantage if somebody applies as NRI candidate for PGPIM ? My primary concern is the interview location .. because they charge more for NRI application ... do they conduct interview through conferencing or whtever for NRI applicants ? I am confused whether to apply as an NRI candidate or not ?
I am an Indian citizen working in a technology company in New York since last 2 years ... does this fit into their definition of NRI ?

Not sure mate.. there were no nri in our batch.. nor are there any in our junior batch i think.. but if u want to join MDI pgim, u may consider joining MEB, ESCP Europe and then going to India for sem 1... it will be cheaper i think..

Reason is that you will be finishing your classes in MDI in February 2010. So they take the entire fees from you before you leave. PGPM will be in MDI till Feb 2011. They have time.

And fees of PGIM has always been more than PGPM. That is because either ours is a better program or we have greater opportunities than them. MDI has not reduced any fees.

If you defer your MEB degree of ESCP by 1 year. Then you will pass out of MDI in march 2011 and from ESCP in march 2012. That is how you can do your internship till june 2011 and return to india to your job afterwards.

u can stay in europe till 31st december 2010 extend able to 31st december 2011.

2. When are we awarded our MBA degree? I mean what is the minimum number of months of internship compulsory for us to be awarded our degree?
Are the names of both ESCP and MDI mentioned on the degree?

3 months. u get separate degrees. refer brochure.


3. Is the PGPIM course AICTE approved?

yes

4. Is it confirmed that the London campus has been officially closed from our batch onwards?

yes, when i last checked.

5. What is the average internship stipend earned in Europe?

1000 euros a month.

@Swagato, you mentioned that a number of your batchmates are undergoing unpaid internships. Could you place a number at that?

0. i said they are easily available. No one has accepted one yet and i dont think anyone will.

6. Is it possible that we come back to MDI for the regular placements in between our internship, pick up a job and then go back to Europe and complete our internship and also look for our job there, keeping the Indian job in hand as a backup?

yup! thats the best option we have.

Yeah.. that is probably the best advice.. learn french/german in India (you need to be able to converse in them)... study for CFA in europe..

thnx for the reply.i am getting the picture now reading responses from seniors from all over.No holidays between trimesters,saturdays working,deadlines n all.Its just that that remnant habits in an engg college to have piece of action of everything will take a bit to die.
Was just talking of the football culture at MDI.and probably a game of footy on some odd sunday.
How many of you guys gave CFA or FRM ?? Its just that i don't wish for a situation where i register for it and later on i find the studies of IM and CFA unmanageable as the exam fee is not quite small.
My receipt num was 3.

Yes, guys play football almost everyday in MDI. you can join in whenever u have time. but we used to have classes till 7 30 in the evening from october onwards. so pgim guys used to miss it except in the weekends.

2 gave CFA last december. 7 or 8 are giving it this june. 3 or 4 have plans to give frm in november. its easier to give cfa in june than december coz of the workload but then you wont be able to enjoy life in europe if you give cfa in june. your decision..

I finally converted and paid the 1st installment.So now i am officially in the PGPIM 2009-11 batch

1. I have seen some guys who plan to study for exams such as CFA during the course of the program to boost their profile.I want to as if its feasible to study for any other exam alongside our course.If yes, then which exam can i give or which additional programs can be done which may ultimately help in internships or pkacements?

CFA and FRM. It is not just feasible but also necessary to do them if you want to go into finance. Either this December or next June for CFA and this november for FRM.

2. I know this ques has been answered before, but can u tell which critrion will be given most weightage when deciding the european campuses at the time of allotment?

Even the admin has not decided it yet I am sure. Term 1 CGPA got a big weightage last year.

3.Do IM students get IDPL campus always or can get both? Any defined crtiria?

both. but as you are one the first PGIM converts to pay the fees, you should get CM. What is your receipt number btw?

4.I plan to learn French , I know it is one of the course subjects.But is the syllabus enough to make us if not fluen sufficient enough for dealings in europe? what else can be done to learn french better. ( any reference materials? any french institute?)

syllabus is not enough but the material given to you is. So, if you are serious, you can just finish the material given and you will be fine. but if u r planning to give cfa, it wont be possible.

5.Is there a pre joining assignment given to us to be completed before joining? Did u get any such assignment?

we got one. you will get one too.

6.During the 20-days period before start of course, what can i read or do to utilize this period to the max? ( i am a fresh engineer:D)

Enjoy the last days of your life. By joining an MBA course, you have sold your soul to the devil. It maybe years, before you get another 20 day holiday.

7.Which stream are opting for your internships? I mean financial sector or marketing,operations etc. or is it dependent on the companies you opt for.Obviously pl going for banking sector are opting for Finance.But the guy who went in for T-Mobile,whats the profile there?

Strategy in T mobile. Financial strategy in British gas. No marketing or operations internship cracked yet.

8.Do we get enough time to play sports etc ? ( i play football and a big arsenal fan- heard we have a couple of gr8 players currently in London from 2008-10 batch )

You want to play football, give CFA, learn French? Get real. you will get to do one. any 1. 4 months into the course, you will understand why i am saying this.

hi, m vishwas. I was waitlisted 51 in pgpim and got cleared today.
nways i was since beginning interested in joining pgpim. Hav done a bit of research and taken feedback about the course and except the following 3 drawbacks (if they can be called so) found the course great:
1. The course is relatively new
2. The cost factor associated
3. No specialization is done
As for the advantages are there, they hav already been discussed a lot: international exposure, internship abroad, multi cultural work ex, global outlook developed, practical approach instead of theoritical learning etc etc etc.

The only doubt remaining in my mind is whether me as being a FRESHER (B. Tech I.T) hav ny standing there in europe, where work ex ppl r preferred and moreover in the economic meltdown already no hirings r thr. I know tht we hav to work hard for gettin our internships and all, but will workin hard be enough to overcome the bad economic situation there????

Moreover, seniors plz clarify whether the internships tht u r gettin r paid or unpaid??? Cost is not a factor in deciding whether i hav to join pgpim but i do need to hav a realistic estimate of my expenses over there.

Lets say at the moment we are looking at internships which pay more than a 1000 euros a month. So every month you do an internship, you save 400+ easily. However, as we have seen so far, getting an unpaid internship is much easier than a paid one, in which case you will be spending 600 euros a month of your own money. So far, my batch is not even looking at unpaid internships. We hope to, and will convert many more paid internships over the next one month.

Wish I could help.. but as you know, all PGIM batch are far away from gurgaon at the moment. You have to wait for someone who paid the fees today to tell you what the receipt number is for pgpim. to give you a clue, i converted in the may 24th list last year.. and i was the 7th guy from the waitlist to finally join.
