But i received a mail from IFMR on monday saying only Certificates copy from Standard X needs to be attested by gazetted officer.. no mention on work exp and mark sheets and pay slip.. i havent got attestation of these..

So much of confusion..

Here goes mine.

Xat score:79.36

GD/PI: Woodrose bangalore 8:30 am slot.

GD topic: Right to reject electoral candidates.

Went fairly well, we were not able to make opening statements more than 30 secs.. Ranjini mam was clear on that and stopped us. Overall experience was good.. she had also noted all the points we made.

Next was summary on the above topic.

PI- First one to go in.. and longest gd i assume..45 mins

It started typically a HR interview... There Ranjini and Fernanda..

Ranjini handled the whole session.. Fernanda was noting down lots of things...

Questions were asked as below.

1. whats the major significance of my life.. told about music.. asked me lots of things on that..

2.My work ex .. major questions..

3. My subjects in grad...she asked me describe about satellite communication..:banghead:
4. Asked me that after so many years of exp why so many job changes.. told..
5. Asked about not much monetary after 2yrs in GIM, told her its about my efforts input and output.. Justified..(i think):wow:
6. Asked why low marks in 10th.. told.
7. no other questioning on marks other wise..

Allowed me to clearly talk

About my GD.. she did specify abt points i made..and said its not necessarily true.. i justified saying it she seemed ok..

Then finally Fernandas asked.. do you think technollogy would be a hindrance for new firms.. Didnt understand clearly.. got it clarified.. said a point.. she said its not about the employees.. then finally gave an exmple of my company and compared with a competitor..

Then asked my other calls ( why they ask this i dont know ).

Overall they were smiling in the end.. but you never know..

we were given 2 minutes to think about the topic and then everyone has to give an opening statement not lasting more than 1 min. Then topic is open for discussion. The gd lasted for 10 mins. we had 10 people in the group instead of an actual attendance of 13. Everyone spoke with their views on the topic, 2 spoke really well and no fish market stuff happened. Then everyone would have to conclude, this time the order is reversed.

After it you wud be given 5 mins to write a essay comprising of 4 paragraph, 1st should be the gist, followed by 2 n 3 which was about your take on the topic and last should be concluding para.. this was basically to test your written communication skills. My essay was completely bad as i left some space in the beginning for my opening paragraph, completed the rest but in the end they got my paper when i was writing my opening para making my essay very abrupt in the beginning itself. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Prof 2: so you did this XYZ course, what all subjects u studied
Me: Told all the subjects as there were only 7
Prof 2: Tell me the company that you work and my profile

Me: Told that it was diversified one and told in detail about the various branches
Prof 2: do you think that XYZ course helped you with the job you got
Me: Yes
Prof 2: Asked why i didnt work and do that XYZ course
Me:Told the only job i got was into IT and told him that i have no interest in it, so waited for an year to land in the job i desired
Prof 1:tell me your competitors

Prof 1: you missed this ....
Me: told him that we are not into renewable energy sector and we were concentrating on thermal sector, prof 2 backs me up and said to prof 1 that it was the other division which was into it.

Me: told him about the diverse batch profiles, csr and simulation game
Prof 2: There are other colleges in india which too has simulation game
Me: smiled and told him from the calls that i have this was the only one which had this game
Prof 2: This was a shocker.... you are very articulate now but why didnt speak you much in GD
Me: knew that my dreams of GIM is over:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:, said that some of the points were already discussed by others hence didnt wanted to be repetitive
Prof 2: Sometimes you have to get noticed and make sure your presence is felt

Me: Told how we had incurred huge losses by recruiting people who didnt have relevant experience in the domain
Prof 1: This is not a strategy
Me: Told him in detail about the same
Prof 1: didnt seem convinced much but said continue
Me: told implementing measures to check the fund utilization so as to ensure that the funds released from corporate for any purpose serves that purpose as in my project there were middlemen who had misused it, then told about frequent visit from corporate to site to check the level of activities
Prof 2: So tell me about your family
Me: told abt my dad
Prof 2: How long has your dad been in the same company
Me: told
Prof 2: where is he now
Me: Told
Prof 2: there is a faculty in GIM from SBI, probably your dad might have known him
Me: Said i will cross check
Prof 2: Any questions
Me: I asked about the simulation game
Prof 2: Told that there are 2 games, one in the first year and the other in the second year which had to do with strategic management.

Overall the experience was good, the faculty were awesome people and so were the batch mates in GD. Dont have any hopes of conversion :banghead::banghead::banghead:and the result wud be out in mid of april is wat they have told to one of my batch mate

All the best for other puys who are yet to have their GD's...

in with 89.99 GDPI date 17 March and Venue Delhi.... seniors please guide us through this phase...

Also they have mentioned to bring the original scorecard of XAT/CAT... I have applied through only XAT but have not recieved the XAT scorecard in original..!!!! what do i do...???

You should get it soon.. i got mine on wednesday.
