I have a question, that is, I have paid 50% of my tuition fees in advance I have all of my remaining expenses (tuition + living) covered through education loan, loan from school and scholarships. So do I still need to show sponsors? (In addition I've also got some decent bank balance)

No. Sponsors are only needed in case you don't have enough money.

Done with the VISA interview and received the passport with the stamp. For the record here is my interview:

VO) Which course and Which University?
Me) MBA, Olin, Wash U

VO) Oh Wash U.

VO) Who is financing your education?

Me) Schol + self

VO) Your Visa is issued.


The whole process of getting the documents appeared to be a big overhead after this but I guess if the Univ is well reputed and documents shown for I20 are good then the VISA is issued without any objection.

Then from my experience, (if you are R3) I can say that it will change on the result day only (i.e. Today evening for India). It will either be a wait-list or ding. Cornell usually informs the admits a day or two in advance.

But then its just my opinion. Need not be true.

Same here. No mail about what can be improved or any such thing yet. Just a confirmation that I am on the wait-list.
