I am a Software Engineer with work ex of 14 months in IT industry
(Total Work Ex. 18 months). I have few queries regarding CFA so it would be very nice of you if you can help out.
1) If I see by pay apckage offered to CFAs, this line seems very nice but before applying for the dates, I want to know what exactly are the duties of CFA and what all I am supposed to study for appearing the paper. If anyone has some soft copies of the related study material, please share with me at
2) As per the hearings of court (what I have read in few threads), it is not sure that CFA level 1- June 2010 will might not be conducted in India. Is this true? Do we have anyone who has applied for India and has got approval for the same? It might not be possible for me to take 5-6 leaves from my current job and go abroad to appear. Expecting it to happen in India.
3) Being an Engineer, is it possible for one to prepare on his own without external coachings. I understand its totally dependant upon an individual but just want some help in this as I have very less knowledge of financial terms.
4) I checked the cfa website for fee structure, the fee structure is divided into two parts. Are we supposed to enroll for both the things mentioned there which amounts to $1110 or the registration fee is one time payment only as it is mentioned for "new candidates only"?

Please help me in these queries.

hi..final list is out..cudnt make it..my bad luck..but wud like to share bout the transparency of welingkar that 1 of my frend had a word wid an agent n he demanded 12lacs 4 the seat at welingkar...well we dont know how many guys hav givn ths amount or they hav made it seriously thru their good skills...

hi puys..me done with my gdpi..had it yesterday(2nd may), time 10:45..process strarted around 11:30...
11:30 ----preasentation by senoirs...
12:00----- gd...topic was"FILM MUSIC- ALL SOUND AND NO SWEETNESS"....8 guys were in each batch...no fish market n everything went fine...made it thrice to put forward my views..gd lasted for 15 mins...announced when last 2 mins were left so i sttarted concluding but some1 cut short of me(dont know what problem he had)....anyways panelist commented that this gd was quite healthy one as no one created fish market, well everyone avoided to create one.....
then was the pi turn..was 2nd in my batch but had to wait alot foer my turn...pi lasted for 25mins...all questions were from my form so read ur form carefully...picture was shown n i had to speak whatever i can make out..gave a puzzle also but that was easy...
then was the pshychometric test..20 mins n 63 questions....
all the best puys...do well...no stressing process

academics:
84.2%in 10th
74.4%in 12th
currently pursuing btech(cse) from guru nanak dev university with current percentage of 73.13..

i have good achievements like i was the winner of "squieeez" competition conducted by iit roorkee and even got all india rank 306 in 4th national science olympiad sponsored by wipro.......

along with that i have good extra curricular activities...

please tell me that do i stand any chance for a call.let me know
