Way back in Aug-2006 , when i decided to attempt CAT seriously i was searching for sites which would provide prep material and info about B-schools not just rankings and stuff but something more. To my surprise all searches on Google and Yahoo were providing me links to PagalGuy threads. So i decided why not have a look at this site which does sound very wierd ;-). Today i can say its the best site for students planning to pursue an MBA degree and i am also a part of it. I had also recommended this to many of my friends who were looking out for guidance and all off them today jus say one thing . . .

      Hey Arch ,

With respect to showing your work ex while taking admission to a college the relieving certificate is not necessary. You can prove your work ex with your offer letter and latest pay slip.

But once you have resigned from your company a relieving certificate is necessary as it is a proof that you are no longer working there and is not liable to them in any manner, plus the relieving certificate usually contains your joining date and details about your work and conduct which will help you in your future job assignments. Its a proof that you have been an ex employee of that company. So just ensure you get one from the HR dept when they make your final settlement. I guess that is what takes some time.

        Hello Everybody,

I am Anil, a B.E (Telecom) from Mumbai University and having 3 years work ex in the Telecom domain.

Till date i had never been active on PagalGuy but this forum has helped me a lot on my journey towards gaining admission to a B- School. Reading about the good as well as bad experiences of the forum members while attempting to crack the CAT did teach me not to lose hope inspite of failures.

Thank you PagalGuy for helping MBA aspirants like me.
I hope my experiences (which i will be posting soon) will help other members in achieving their goals.

        Cheers

        Anil
