The percentile scores pertain only to the written test as declared by any other test, be it CAT, XAT or otherwise. There cannot be consolidated scores as only a fraction of the candidates get to attend the GD/PIs.

The reason why the percentiles are not declared before itself is to ensure a fair process during the GD/PI for every candidate where everyone is evaluated on the same level.

I think the notion that FMS admissions have a high weightage for written (as high as 70%) can be laid to rest now. Even during admissions for last year's batch, there were some people who had very high percentiles but still did not make it. Seems like more importance is being given to the GD/PI performance, especially the extempore.

Now that the results are out, confirmed candidates party:drinking:and w/l candidates enjoy the wait.... (I was w/l 4 in 2007 and had to wait for 2 months before I could pay my fees)

In my belief, the person wont be automatically taken out from the waitlist. The person concerned could be more willing to take MBA-MS and have had taken MBA only as a backup in case his waitlist in MS doesnt convert. So he might decide to switch once he converts MS as well.
Just think abt it in d reverse way. Wat if a person is cleared in MS and waitlisted in MBA. Then would (should) his taking it into MS result in his expulsion from the MBA list.

Another thing, I called FMS office yesterday. Though it ought to be a holiday, someone picked up :o. He told me that they are currently working on the data and the list can be expected by today evening. He refused to give any indication abt the movement though it is expected to be low since the IIM results are not out yet. So keep your fingers Xed puys. ATB!!!

Right on!! Once you accept admission into one course, your name's not removed from the w/l of the other course. If your w/l number is converted, you are given the same amt of time as others to change your course to the other. If you dont, then your admission to that course is cancelled.

Coz there are two sets of candidates(MBA and MBA-MS) among whom the percentiles are calculated...its percentiles and not percentages

VKRV admissions depend on a final merit list that rates your standing in your batch. I still havent heard of a case where a confirmed candidate got rejected. Usually a lot of W/L candidates also get in.:

just dont change your number...but seriously, I think mails are also sent to the candidates whose w/l has been cleared. All in all, you have an option in calling up the Admissions office after the last date for paying fees.:w00t:

Wow.....you guys seem to have had a hell of a ride with this paper!! My suggestion....dont worry about the answer keys...a substantial number of the answers always tend to differ from the correct ones. chill out, puys!!

Results should be out soon enough too....FMS is one of the few campuses where the admissions are over by March end. So expect the results for the entrance exam to come by February 2nd week:.

Someone on the forum was asking abt QA percentiles....traditionally its been an easy section in the FMS paper, but judging by your reactions, I'd say the cutoffs are going way down this time. Also, there are a substantial number of non-engineering students that apply for this exam. So expect the cutoffs to be lower:new_scatter:

as rightly pointed out by Atnamas, this is last year's form. FMS has introduced downloaded forms for the admissions this year and they are available at the following link:

Download the form, take a print, fill it up and send it to FMS with the DD. The details of this mode of forms are available in the FAQs section, QNo. 19.

For all those who are facing difficulty in applying to FMS through the online portal, FMS has introduced online downloadable forms that can be printed out and submitted along with the DD for the required amount. The filled in forms along with other necessary documents and the DD are to be sent to FMS on or before 1st December, 2008. The forms are available at:

Those who have successfully registered on the online form do not need to fill in these forms.
