i have been waitlisted for IIFT Kolkata campus..my rank on d list is 24th. How strong are my chances to make it to the Delhi campus this year? and I would also like to know the difference between Kolkata campus and Delhi campus other than the fact that the latter has a bigger history and student intake dan the former. I want to know abouth the placements. Are they the same in both campuses? Do they have joint placements? What about the courses on offer? Are they the same too? Am sorry if I asked too many questions..But i hope you appreciate my concerns..Wanna get it badly thats why..Thank you..:)

Your chance of making it to the Delhi Campus will depend on the number of alternate calls people are having in the current Delhi & Kolkata list.

Also regarding your other questions are concerned, all of them have already been answered many times earlier. So please take some pains and go through the previous pages and you will find answers to your queries.

I have got a call for IIFT Delhi

Can the IIFT seniors please answer the following queries -

1. Will we receive a letter/email from IIFT confirming our selection ? If yes, by when can we expect to receive such intimation ?

2. What was the last date to pay the 1st installment of fees in 2010 ?

1. Yes you will be receiving a letter (snail mail) from the administration which will contain all the forms and the fees structure. You should get it in 1 week's time, I suppose.

2. After we received the letter we had around 30-35 days to deposit the fees and we had to pay Rs. 186,500 as the 1st installment.

3.When does the course start?
Was forced to ask as i will probably put my papers tomorrow and i need to put the tentative last working day.As 3 months notice period is mandatory,i need to know the probable dates of starting of classes.

3. The course starts from 1st July which is the case since past few years and which I don't see changing. So the classes starts from 1st July.

Tomorrow our end-term exams are ending, so you will get the answers from many more people. Just wait for few more hours and till then enjoy

Now wont i even be considered coz presently I am willing to join IIFT-K

You don't apply to IIFT D or IIFT K, but you apply to IIFT. So based on you overall merit positions the names of top 240 odd candidates are present in the Delhi list while the remaining 60 odd in Kolkata list. So if the list moves after the deadline of 1st installment, your name will appear in IIFT Kol list.

sorry for asking again.:oops::oops:..i am not in any of the list...now do i stand a chance of getting iift-d if waitlisted....and how can one know about the waitlist?? sorry again...a bit confused...

See the process works like this. If only 100 people of the current Delhi list confirm their admission till the final date of 1st fees installment, then all the people in the Kolkata gets the chance to get admitted to Delhi.

Now a fresh list is created of wait-listed candidates whose names are not present as of now in any of the list and then they are given a chance to occupy the Kolkata seat. Now if some candidate X is wait-listed in IIM A/B/C and has confirmed his seat in Delhi and clears the IIM A/B/C wait-list then one candidate from the Kolkata list (1st wait-list) will be shifted to Delhi.

Now again it all depends on what is the overlap of calls among the candidates whose names are present in the list announced today.

I would request all whose names are not present in any of the lists announced today, to relax a bit. You will get to know about any wait-list movement only after the deadline of the 1st installment.

As far as the wailtist is concerned, there will only be 1 waitlist and that will be for the Kolkata campus. So as when someone opts out from the Delhi campus or doesn't join the people from the Kolkata list will be moved to Delhi list and fresh set of individuals will be called for the Kolkata campus.

Congratulations to all who have converted the call

And others please don't loose heart as only the first list is out. All those who have converted will receive a letter from the administration regarding the fees structure and one has to deposit the 1st installment to confirm their seat at IIFT.

For the people who have their names in the Kolkata list will have to mention their preference whether they want to join the Delhi campus or Kolkata campus. So as and when there is any movement from the Delhi list after the 1st deadline of fees payment, you will be moved to the Delhi campus.

Last year we had to pay Rs.1,86,500 as the 1st installment which was the fees for the 1st trimester itself.
