try and talk to other banks like SBI...they fund you upto 85% of the total project cost...in case u r totalk project cost is 13 lakhs..they ll fund you upto 11 lakhs...

I have a big doubt here....Why is GL imposing such deadlines to submit the fees. I mean many of us have other b-school results as well, which will come by the end of March and early April.
How do we manage this???

I am really confused as to what to do......I have IIT-D, XIMB.....I wud like to wait for their results....Please help puys

But u planning for an MBA right.....and MBA which shall teach you about the Business...what it is..how it is and how it functions...

Do u think b-schools only teach business to you....
When they can teach...can't they follow their own teachings...
Heard about opportunity cost...
Heard about decision making...

Try and think...you wanna be an MBA grad....wanna be in business/ corporate world and you want things to be fair.....

Logistically saying Great lakes have done a stupendous job.... they have given the appropriate time for the candidates to think and pay their fees...they have see incase ppl are not joining they need to inform the wait-listed candidates as well. many of which might apply for loans which again gonna take some time..

Also as per the fee structure...the date of paying 750K is April 15th.... if they extend even 1 day.... how do u expect the program to start on 25th?

Try and think form the colleges perspective as well...
They know their business and they are doing it in a better way..

Good Morning Folks.. The day that you were waiting for is finally here. It has been a long winding road and I am certain that it was not very easy. Each of you have put in your very best and reached this stage and that requires a huge pat on your back.

Though it is easier said than done, there are some who are going to be ecstatic at the end of the day today and for some others the wait will be longer. What I have noticed is that those who face an unfavorable result generally reduce their presence on the forum. As much as we would hate to see that happen, I am guessing it is inevitable. So before that situation arises, I would sincerely thank each one of you, on behalf of Great Lakes and myself, for making this thread intellectually stimulating and one of the most vibrant threads on pagalguy.com.. It is not bunkr or Ashish or me who have made this forum a success. It is you guys.

I have personally had a wonderful time interacting with each one of you. And like I had said when the GD/PI results were announced. Let this forum not be the last and only place we interact. Keep in touch.

Over the last 2 yrs I have taken my GMAT, CAT, XAT, FMS and what not...hey even GREAT.....and I have applied to schools ranging from HKUST, ISB,CEIBS, HKU, NUS, .........,IIMs, SPJAIN and GreatLakes...

As an MBA aspirant applying for an MBA program can be very confusing, even if the b-school targets to make it as easier as possible. I have faced problems in filling up application forms in almost all of 'em. I have wondered whether the placement is nice or not...I have wondered whether the ppl are nice, whether the alumni is supportive, how much money I need and importantly...whats my chances...

And out of the b-schools (add Harvard and Wharton to the list) the adcom hasn't been as nice as it has been at the GreatLakes....

I donno whether I'll be selected but the overall experience of interacting with GreatLakes at the Online application Stage, GREAT and the GD/PI has been one of a kind...

Pagalguy does not support comparison of Bschools.

The rankings will give you a fair idea of the standings of the Bschools. Use reliable rankings like PG/ TIME/ IMS/ Cl etc, and dont trust Business magazines, etc.

Plus, these discussions can happen over PM.

Dear Akshay, I understand that b-school comparison isn't healthy but what about my dilemma...

which is:-

I have an admit from SPJAIN (Dubai-Singapore campus) and hopefully from Great lakes....what should I do?
SPJAIN (Dubai-Singapore Campus) doesn't even figure in any sort of ranking.....not even on Pagalguy....

Moreover rankings only provide some standings which are numerically represented. What about a fresher with a call from IIM-A and ISB......and what about a person with 8 yrs exp.....with a call from IIMs or ISB? Its very subjective....where do we clear our doubts??

I am seriously in a dilemma and believe that the only place where I can clear my doubts is Pagalguy....
Request you to guide me to a forum where I can discuss my confusion...

As far as I think no college comes out with such bifercation of several sections in the application.....I think and to some certainity know that a Bschool conducting such a process which Great Lakes is conducting..shall look at the overall profile....Scores only and only reprsent your level of academic acumen to handle the rigours of the MBA program..academics wise.....all the other things such as Essays...recos....and other academic and non-academic history makes the most impact and not your scores...

I think someone with a 99%ile in XAT and a very under-avg profile might be called for GD/PI ....however he/she shall ....or rather will..... face a very tough time against a candidate with a very nice profile..even if he/she has under-performed as compared to a 99%iler....

So...If one know what to write and how to write the ESSAYS..
What their recommenders write about them....not..who writes the recos..
Have been consistent with achivements across his/her academic and professional life...will always be called for the next phase of selection..

However....it is again all together a subjective game....
Somebody's overall profile might be very nice according to me...but not good according to Mr. X..
But if I am in the add-comm...then It doesn't matter what Mr. X has to say about it...

Just a thought that I wanted to share basis last 5 years of research on aplying to various MBA collges world wide....

I made a payment of Rs.2000 which includes fees for GREAT exam also. But the e-mail that I received didnt explicitly mention that I have registered for GREAT also. It just mentioned about payment confirmation. Is there anyway to confirm it?

I also registered for GREAT by paying Rs.500 thru online app form cos I didnt know Rs.2000 included GREAT fees also. I have sent the mail to the admission team for getting back my Rs.500.

But is there anyway to confirm that I have registered for GREAT?
