You think this is wierd; people got offers for campuses they didn't even give as their choice.
I filled Ghaziabad as my ONLY preference; was offered Hyd campus and when I didn't pay I was again offered DCP. (If you didn't think I was worthy for G, simply reject me. Why offer a college that a 50%iler got last year?)

There are two things about the admission committee that I can say without a doubt:

FIRST: There is no point in asking the candidates for their prefrences since in the end you offer them anything at your own will.

SECOND: You keep all candidates (who did not convert) in the waitlist without waitlist numbers or campus for which he/she has been waitlisted, then you offer Hyderabad campus (my case) and when people don't pay the money, you come back offering DCP (Nagpur in your case) i.e. you offered a better college when the candidate declines your previous offer? And if he dosen't decline, you let him make a bad decision and ruin his/her career?

There was a guy named "Vishal" in one of the IMT threads (2012); he tried to expose the true colours of the admission committee but everyone else on the thread mocked him.
Now, he's been proved right beyond all doubt.

hmm friend you can't drag the entire college for the fault of admission commitee and their unproffesional behaviour. Admission process is just a part of a B-school, it also comprises of student, faculty, alumni network and all are among best. so don't drag and defame entire college for the fault of one dept. , and the guy you mentioned clearly told about the faulty admission process and didn't defame the entire college for it.

But don't you think paying the installment for DCP involves a big risk?! What if there is no upgradation? Nobody wants to do DCP! I converted IMT-H earlier.. DIDN'T PAY FOR IT. But today, out of the blue, got the mail that I have converted DCP! I think the same procedure should be followed. If there are seats available later on, we should be asked! Nobody would pay for DCP! (And I have heard that getting a refund from IMT is like dealing with a government department, just imagine how difficult it would be to get a refund from IMT-Dubai, since first installment is to be paid there!)

for that I can say don't pay in any stream just for upgradation sake pay It only when you have faith in IMT-G and if you see you can encash the platform and exposure provided by IMT-G

and any one who is really intrested in IMT-G( let me remind you by havin the keen eye on the admission procedure from 21 march the admission cell will send the application for DCP program only and later on upgrade based on vacancy, good or bad but they are following this procedure only) PM me regarding DCP program if you intrested and have some confusion evbody invited for PM.

All candidates from IMT-N and IMT-H who got call for DCP program the only chance for upgradation is only when you will join the DCP program and pay the first installment as none of waitlistied candidate is asked for 2 year ghaziabad program however shifting of program on vacany based will start within few days and will be done by first whithin IMT-G selected stream including DCP and than probably waitlisted and IMT-N and IMT-H will ask for DCP program first and later upgraded if vacany the process will go on in this way only

Looks like a lot of people are withdrawing their admission. Hoping for a massive movement bcoz I want an up gradation from DCP.

I dont want to demorlise you as i am from dcp too. but If we wise fully saw that dcp people need to submit money in emirates bank.If DCP really would have been on their cards of up-gradation they should ask some lesser amount and in the ghaziabad branch which can be easily transfer to emirates bank in case of no upgradation. but they didn't do it for some reason ,may be too many buffer calls. Now I am realising I did the mistake by neglecting the buffer calls post some where in between in this thread from page 180-200 if I am not wrong.

Where was you rohin till now ? anyway Thanks for the post. your post gave me gr8 help to analyze the situation.You are Upgraded from waiting list to PGDM-IT simply mean as last year there are separate waiting list for each stream this year too. I am from PGDM-DCP and this is perhaps or now for sure is my final verdict.

This was the policy last year too I saw on the previous year PG threads....but after the third list on may 21 the IMT-nagpur guys asked for DCP program.............and it is most likely the will be asked for DCP this year too just hope for the best and wait and watch

In between including IIM B, IIM C, ABM of IIM A&L;, TISS how many other recent results came in last 2-3 days capable to start the Upradation process at IMT_G.
