The Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM), Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur released its placement report for the MBA batch of 2008-10 this week, claiming a total of 110 offers for an eligible-for-placements count of 80 students. With 15 job offers, IBM was the largest recruiter at the placements. A total of 41 companies made recruitments, registering an average salary of Rs 11.37 lakhs. Despite the placement season being over, not all eligible students have been placed though, reveal our sources.

anonymous @ Apurv - Have not seen any analysis of the IIM placement reports in the same manner as that of NM, IIFT and now VGSOM. In fact pagalguy was breaking news on the IIM placements and average salaries, without verifying the facts as they are doing for the other b-schools - NM, IIFT, VGSOM. If you are making noise about objective journalism and scratching the surface of the placement reports, then why have you not done it for the IIMs - i am sure they will also not be above board in their placement data. Until the pagalguy team has the courage to bring the truth of the IIM placement reports in the open in a similar fashion as they have done it for VGSom, then all this talk about not maligning a b-school and showing the lamp of knowledge sounds hollow. So if the pagalguy team is not maligning the non-IIM b-schools, then prove by doing a similar analysis for the IIMs as well.

In fact I am surprised that even after almost a month of this online slugfest, numerous suggestions to Mr Apurv to bring out similar analysis of other B schools (esp IIMs) have all fallen on deaf ears!!! He should already have posted sonething on the IIMs as well by now...

You can keep the date of 21st june for the start of the course.... most probably it will be the same or one week later....... seniors batch is expected on campus on 14 june.......so plan your resignation accordingly dude
