Can anybody tell me whether the GK section that is being introduced from this year is going to be an eliminating section, i.e. whether we need to clear the cut-offs in GK to get a GDPI call from XLRI or is it going to be just like the essay writing which is not taken into consideration for deciding the cut-offs?

I am Shaswata. Yesterday I received a letter from SIBM-Pune stating that I have converted the call. It is written in the mail to deposit the fees by 31st May.
However, one of my friends who has also converted SIBM has received a mail some days back stating that due to unavailability of rooms in the hostel, the institute would not be able to provide accommodation in the campus and we have to arrange for our own accommodation.
Do you guys have any info on the matter?
Looking forward to hearing back from you soon as depending on this factor, I will decide whether to join SIBM-Pune or not.

Hi Puys,

I got a direct convert from XIMB this year and was scheduled to join the college.
But yesterday I got a letter from Symbiosis stating that I have converted SIBM-P( though initially I was a direct reject).
Now I am pretty confused which institute to join.(and I have to decide quickly as I have to deposit the fees in SIBM by 31st May)
From initial research it seems to me that SIBM-P is better in terms of brand value and initial placements (its prime location also plays a role here) but a senior told me that XIMB, due to its rigorous curriculum and extensive focus on learning, will give me an edge in the long run.
And also, I am interested to take Finance as my specialization. Don't have much idea about which of the two colleges offers a better profile in Finance.
As far as my profile is concerned, it goes like this:
X th: 92.63%
XII th: 91.4 %
Graduation: 69% (B.E. in Electrical Engg.)
Work-ex: 3 years 10 months in an IT company
Please help me with your opinion about which among the two is a better B-school (according to you) in terms of quality of faculty, return from a long-term perspective, placements etc.

I mean, what all companies came to recruit, what were the profiles offered etc.

Hi,
When we can expect to get the joining dates(or for that matter, any intimation from SBI through mail or courier) for SBI probationary officers?
I work in a company which has a notice period of 3 months. I have no idea when SBI is planning to give the joining and in a dilemma. If anybody has any idea, please let me know.

Can we start a poll on the written score of the people who finally made it through?
This way we can have a fair bit of idea about how much importance the written score played in the final selection.
And what is the contact no. of the admissions office? I have called up the no. mentioned in their website(011-2685790 but nobody picked up.

Are there any way to know the composite scores(breakup of Essay+GD+PI) and the overall ranks secured by us? Will they share this info if I call up the admissions office?
It really baffles me that even after a very good GD+PI+Essay round, I cannot find my name in any of the lists.
