There are 6 sets of papers available from Schweser (Morning and Afternoon). PM me in case you want the links for the papers.

I wouldn't agree with that. Online CAT will be costly enough to discourage people from registering if they are just "dummy candidates". Also, you may not actually have an option of choosing the date (not sure though) because if that option is left to the candidate, every candidate would go for the last 2/3 days. Hence, IIMs may randomly allot the test date to the candidates so that there are more or less the same number of candidates on every day.

As for those who would wish to do the same. I believe money is not that big an issue for coaching classes. You can always share questions through forums like this :P
Regarding the second point I would disagree since people working might not be able to get a day off for giving the exams or anything like that. I personally don't think that they can randomly allocate dates. Perhaps they may ask you to select the days. Randomly they can not give the dates.

My 2 cents on this issue:
This will encourage more dummy candidates who will be giving the tests and will thus make those questions available to the other candidates.This will surely put some students who have their date/ chosen their date at an earlier day at a disadvantage.
Also how do you ensure fairness for the students giving the tests. In the earlier tests the level of difficulty was same for all the candidates since they all gave the same tests. Now one may get a easy question from a topic not very much conversant with while someone may get a difficult question from the same unprepared topic.

A quick question...did you get the option to select Mumbai as the test center or you went with Kathmandu etc etc and then you got emails informing that the center will be in mumbai.

I am taking this in December 2009 and am not getting the Mumbai option...need some clarification here.

The option was made available only for the June exam and not for the December Exam. The High court ruling has only allowed it for the June exam.
This is a similar case as there was exam held in Mumbai last time around in june but was not held in India in December.
Hence you will not find it on the website till a ruling for the december exam is passed.

Can anybody tell me where can I get the CFA Schweser question bank 2009 and the notes in Mumbai. Is it available at the NM college Shop? Is it available else where?

Just checked my mail. The good news is that we are allowed to take the JUNE 09 L1 exam in MUMBAI. I had originally taken Colombo as the test centre . Have changed it to MUMBAI. I got a mail from the Institute itself. Its confirmed. ALL THE BEST ..

Yeah Guys, Me too recieved the mail from CFA institute which says that Delhi High court Ruling has come to the affect that they will be able to hold their June exam( am not very much sure of the december exam) in Mumbai. The last date to change the center is 10th April, 2009. Inform your friends so that they can cancel their tickets to any other place they had planned earlier.

Any idea on where is the location normally in Mumbai?

Also can anybody let me know of where can I buy the Schweser Material for 2009 in Mumbai. Also, is the material very much different from the 2008 material except for the 3 choice options which we are having this year as compared to the last year.

Those who have selected Kathmandu as their Test Centre, how are they planning to go to Nepal?

Is there any Train Facility also, to go to Kathmandu? Anybody here, planning to go via Train? I guess, if we are going by Train, we will have to go to the Nepal Border(Jogbani, the Nepal Border Town in Bihar, via Train), and then we will have to catch a Bus. I think there isnt any Visa neccesity for Indian Citizen travelling to Nepal.

Help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

There is no visa requirement for traveling to Nepal. Regarding the trip, you can take a train to Gorakhpur station and from there on take a bus/ car ride to border town of Sunaoli. From across the border there are buses to Kathmandu. Alternatively if you are in a group, you can take a car/ van/ bus.

From my experience, you will need to bargain very good if you want to get a good price for the van thing. Also make sure you decide the currency as well when ie whether you are paying in nepali rupees or indian rupees.

Also please try and get a booking done for your stay in nepal since the place is almost houseful at that time. Difficult to get a proper place to stay. I believe you dont want to spend time searching for a place. ;)

This is all I can think of the travel requirements.
